I am currently in the military training at AIT. My job requires a security clearence. I am trying to straighten out my creditors and pay back my debts, so I put them in a debt management program. I come to find out that one of my creditors sold my account to E-cast. I call each creditor to start the program and E-cast has written off my debt and has submitted a 1099-c to the IRS. The thing is the 1099-c went to the wrong address. I call a 610 area code assigned to E-cast, but a law office call Beckett and Lee represents them. The attorny's office cannot give me any information on E-cast. Its my debt, but I can't get any information on them. E-cast doesn't correspond in fax or email, just regular mail. I have already filed my taxes and spoke to my tax preparer. I called the IRS and they said I will have to do an amended tax return. The law firm said they can email E-cast a request to resubmit the form to my current, which could take weeks. This is really stupid that a company wants to be so elusive like this. Does anybody have the correct contact information for E-cast? The number 610-644-7800 goes directly to the Beckett and Lee law firm. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
