eHarmony.com does not allow members to search through profiles of other members so that each member can seek out, and make contact with, whomever they choose. Instead, each member may only contact individuals that are provided to that member. Names of individuals ("matches") that are provided to a person may live hundreds or thousands of miles away from them - even if the member has stated a preference that his "matches" be no more than 25 miles away from him.

eHarmony likes to insult men, as a group, on their discussion website (this is a free service). The discussion moderators also allow individual women to insult men, but if the men insult the women back, they are banned.

Perhaps this is why eHarmony has many more female members than male members! Their policies alienate men. And, the women that male members encounter are often likely to show the same anti-male biases that eHarmony displays.

The women members lose out, also. Because there are far fewer male members than female members, they will receive far fewer matches than will male members.

eHarmony is also much more expensive than other dating sites. Personally, I recommend that a person look on Craigslist (no charge) for compatible companions.
