EMERGE MASTERCARD, PROVIDIAN VISA NO CHOICE BUT GETTING RIPPED OFF abused & mistreated ripoff business from hell Internet
I also had a providian Get Smart Visa, and never missed a payment nor was I ever late. One day last year after I had just done a $200.00 payment over the internet, I went to use the providian card and it was declined. I called providian and was told that my account had been cancelled along with many other due to "RISK." I then stated the above and was told that I would be receiving a letter shortly explaining why my account was cancelled.
When I received the letter it told me nothing then about Emerge but simply said that I was expected to continue making regular monthly payment and that this had to be by a check mailed to Providian. The a couple of months later I received the Emerge Mastercard Gold. I then called the telephone number on the back of the card and was told that my credit balance was several hundreds of $$'s less than what I had @Providian and that I needed to make a payment immediately.
I asked why my credit line was decreased and was told that it wasn't no matter how long I argued. I then explained that I had still been making my payments to Providian monthly by maill and that I had never received a statement for the Emerge card. I then asked what the Emerge web site was and was informed that there wasn't one.
I noticed that the person I was speaking with had a very heavy Indian (India) accent and I had heard that there had been quite a few companies starting to out source their Customer Service to companies in India as they could pay them so much less than here in America and the woman told me yes she was in fact in India.
I had no idea that my interest rate had gotten so high as I set up an automatic debit from my checking account so I wouldn't have to deal with writting a check and mailing it on time. DOES ANY ONE HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT WE CAN DO TO ACTUALLY GET SOMETHING DONE ABOUT THIS?
