Salesman when I asked if they took old carpet said no we can't have old carpet that may have fleas in vehicle then use vehicle for new carpet. Installation coordinator said that was ridiculous they take all old carpet and always have. Day installation remainder of deposit was to be signed before work took place. Both installers were Mexican had NO company I D and came in an unmarked white van. My credit card was taken from my home to van by one of them and 15 min later came back with the card and receipt. I questioned payment before even seeing the rug was correct one or any work being performed. I have since stopped payment on Amer Express as I called next business day their 866 588 2332 number and gave a detailed complaint of the seam showing and asked to talk with someone; girl said they would call right back. 3 days after that wife called and said no return call girl said we have no record of the call; she would reissue the request and wife asked why so long she said it is usually 3 to 5 days for someone to call. I have proof of the phone calls made to them on my FIOS phone account. It is now going on 2 weeks and still no phone call even after Amer Express sent them a letter and stopped payment.

After seeing all these complaints nationwide (after the fact!) I have no idea why some organization would not enter legal action ! I am a victimized retired senior citizen!

#1 Consumer Suggestion

You Were At Risk

AUTHOR: John - (U.S.A.)

Did those nice, professionally dressed Hispanic gentlemen speak much English? They were wearing those same nice blue Empire uniforms you see the Caucasian actors wearing in their TV ads, right???  I suspect if you would have yelled "INS" they would have jumped out the nearest window. You were basically "Empired" as many others have been.

No company ID. Plain white van. You have to wonder if Empire salesman recruited them down at the local Home Depot store parking lot. I'm sure they ran background checks and drug screens on them before they permitted them to represent Empire at a customer location, right??? They were properly insured and licensed, right???

Don't you feel safer now???
