He thinks that they also sold him a re-sellable website of some sort? Anyway, the contract states that we are in an agreement to pay for a "Merchant account" and I have called around and found that companies only charge $99.00 for "Merchant accounts with Internet payment gateways". He paid $89.95 down at the seminar and has been paying $89.95 a month to Monterey Financial Services ever since. He is stuck in this contract until April 2005!! Help!!!
Monterey said that if we stop paying, they will ruin our credit record. What are we paying $3,328.15 for? What EXACTLY did we buy? I've tried to call ePenzio at 1-801-365-1000 but there is no answer. Any help would be appreciated.

Epenzio, Monterey Financal: Collection Companies in California

I ended up having to pay it off so I could buy a house which made me so angry! I spoke with a credit attorney and she said the laws in California favor the collection company. It didn't matter that the collection was in on a scam. That guy from Monterey Financial made me feel like crawling in a hole and dying. He made threats and just never stopped harrassing me. I would love to get my money back. I have a huge file of everything that happened in 2002. I tried calling that guy the other post mentioned, but I was told they couldn't help me. I paid directly from my bank account so I didn't have the advantage of a credit card company to help. If anyone out there gets any results, I would love to hear about it.
thanks,
Isabella

I have been harrassed by Monterey Financial Services too

My husband got scammed by Galaxy Mall Stores on Line. He was out of work, had no income other than unemployment.
He was approved for a loan of $4900. through
Monterey Financial Services of Carlsbad California.
They are now in Oceanside, California.
Your story sounds strangely familiar.
Monterrey called and asked us when we would start making payments, and I told them never, because the product they financed was a scam.
Then I started to get phone calls from a guy named Eric Hansen, of Monterey Financial.
He would sometimes call as early as 7:00 AM on Saturday and Sunday.
His usual statements would be, ( as he laughed)
That if we didn't pay, they would ruin our credit.
He'd add things like,"just wait till you want a new car or a house" so you'd better pay.
I laughed at him and hung up, which made him madder, he called more often.
So I got privacy guard and he stopped calling because I would NEVER accept any of his calls.
He tried to call using an unblocked number, but I told him off and hung up.
I think that MOnterey Financial is in bed with certain scam organizations.
I have filed a formal complaint. I refuse to pay.
And yes, they have reported me, but I have a very good LOE, and the support of so many others that share the same story.
Don't give in to these creeps.
They have no place to go but down!
