This is a Ditto to what Linda of Reseda, California said:

I was shocked to see charges on my SBC telephone statement for email service I never ordered from Net Armor and billed by ESBI via SBC.

Even more shocking was when I went to the FTC website and found that ESBI had settled with the FTC some time ago for fraudulent billing and yet they are still doing the same thing.

I question the integrity of SBC for continuing to do business with these people and I plan on filing a complaint with not only the FTC, but whoever else will listen.

The same thing happened to me!!!!!! For two months ESBI billed me on something I never ordered.

#1 UPDATE EX-employee responds

NetArmor not responsible for reported false billing

AUTHOR: Mike Beeler - (U.S.A.)

The rebuttal added to this ripoff report by Lorraine - Geek Consumer Advocate of
Phoenix, Arizona, U.S.A., inaccurately targets NetArmor, Inc. and myself as the source of the reported SBC billing errors attributed to "SBI Net Armor" and SBC.

NetArmor, Inc. never operated under an alias or ever used the name "SBI Net Armor". Neither I nor any employee of NetArmor knows them nor is NetArmor or any employee afilliated with them in anyway. NetArmor Inc. never operated an email service.

NetArmor ceased operations as a Managed Security Services company in 2004 and the Corporation was legally terminated in 2005. At no time did NetAmor, Inc. or any of its employees engage in the activities as reported here and alluded to by Lorraine of Phoenix, Arizona.

I can only conclude that Lorraine found the company's old web page and since the names are similar, she assumed that www.netarmor.net was the "SBI Net Armor" email service for which the ripoff report was submitted. I realize that the names are similar, however Lorraine is simply wrong to conclude that NetArmor, Inc. is the same as "SBI Net Armor" as reported by her in her rebuttal posting.

I sincerely hope that Linda of Reseda, California and Debra of Ottawa, Illinois have resolved there problems with SBC and SBI Net Armor. In summary I state once again that Lorraine is simply WRONG to conclude that NetArmor, Inc. and myself are the (as posted in Lorraine's rebuttal) the subjects of the SBC, SBI Net Armor complaint.

#2 Consumer Suggestion

Per SBC - Customer Not Required To Pay SCAM Charges

AUTHOR: Rj - (U.S.A.)

According to information on the SBC site, they will work with customers to get crammed charges removed and customers are NOT REQUIRED TO PAY FRAUDULENT CHARGES. Also, SBC local carriers WILL NOT DISCONNECT local telephone service for nonpayment of a disputed third-party charge.

SBC Consumer Information is located at (http://www.sbc.com/gen/general?pid=1418). It states, in part, the following:

How SBC Can Help if You've Been Crammed:

If customers are billed for collect calls they did not accept or for calls that were accepted under false pretenses, such as calls falsely represented to have been placed by family members, they should advise the carrier that they dispute the charges and refuse to pay any unauthorized charges.

With regard to the disputed charges, customers should first attempt to deal directly with the carrier with whom the charge originated, whose name and toll-free telephone number should be printed on the same bill page as the charge in question. Often, the problem can be resolved with a single telephone call.

If the carrier with whom the charge originated does not agree to resolve the problem, customers should call SBC at the number that appears on the first page of their bill.

CUSTOMERS ARE NOT REQUIRED TO PAY CHARGES FOR GOODS AND SERVICES THEY NEITHER ORDERED NOR RECEIVED, AND SBC WILL WORK WITH THESE CUSTOMERS TO GET THE "CRAMMED" CHARGES REMOVED FROM THEIR PHONE BILL.

To file a cramming complaint, contact your local public utilities commission or the Federal Communications Commission at 1-888-225-5322 (CALL FCC) or http://www.fcc.gov/cgb/consumerfacts/cramming.html

In addition, there is an SBC/ATT so-called Consumer Advocacy page located at: http://www.sbc.com/gen/press-room?pid=6044

From that page, there is a link to an SBC PDF file:

Reporting Scams and Fraud

When consumers have questions about charges on their telephone bill, they should contact the carrier with whom the charge originated, whose name and toll-free telephone number should be printed on the same bill page as the charge in question. Often, the problem can be resolved with a single phone call.

If the carrier with whom the charge originated does not agree to resolve the problem, SBC customers should contact an SBC customer service representative using the phone number on their bill or by going to www.sbc.com/contact_us.

SBC REPRESENTATIVES WILL WORK WITH THE CUSTOMER AND THE CARRIER TO HELP REMOVE FRAUDULENT CHARGES FROM THE PHONE BILL.

SBC LOCAL CARRIERS WILL NOT DISCONNECT LOCAL TELEPHONE SERVICE FOR NONPAYMENT OF A DISPUTED THIRD-PARTY CHARGE.

I have received "cramming" charges twice for "Voice Mail". I found this interesting SBC information tonight and thought I'd share, since the SBC operators are less than fully knowledgable and helpful. Good luck!

#3 Consumer Suggestion

Info on netarmor.net

AUTHOR: Lorraine - Geek Consumer Advocate :-) - (U.S.A.)

As I tried to find more information on this company, I became aware there are two companies online called Net Armor. The one that is behind the charges on your phone bill is http://www.netarmor.net.

The other company, http://www.net-armor.com, must be getting confused with the bad netarmor as they have a notice on their website telling consumers they are not authorized to charge on phone bills. It's in big, bold print, so I am assuming by that they are getting a lot of contact from people who've been ripped off by the bad netarmor.net.

Below is information I found on the bad netarmor.net. I hope it helps you get your money back or to get the charges off your phone bills.
