EZ Money'Pawn of Austin, Texas appears to hire employees that have had numerous issues with their personal finances and well as their alcohol consumption.
Eric Welch, their Director of Stores had files for BK three times in the last 10 years, yet EZ Money found it prudent to hire him and allow him to lead their Payday Loan stores. One would wonder how an individual that cannot manage their own finances could possibly manage a publically held business. ( Stockholders beware )
Eric also has been convicted of 3 DUIs in the very same time period.
Allow me to give you some perspective here: EZ Money/Pawn is a pubically held company, their officers have a fiduciary responsibilitary to their company and their stock holders.
Does anyone out there believe that these officers have performed their due diligence concerning the hiring of Eric Welch?
You see Eric is a divorced single parent. He has a responsibility to his Son, his ability to earn a living. Yet his actions appear to portray something different.
Let's see, I have $1000.00 in my account, but I think I will spend $1500.00 this week. Next week, the week after. Considering I can fleece my creditors and once again file for BK, who really gives a d**n.
I can always hit the local bar and have a few drinks. Maybe many drinks, things just seem to be better that way!
Hell, maybe EZ Money will offer me a high paying position, increase my financial responsibilities and instill confidence in their stockholders. ( I own 1800 shares of their stock )
Not sure who made this hire, did the background check, the MV check, the credit check.....or did they?
Maybe the professional standards at a Payday Loan/Pawn company are just lower than at other companies.
I wonder what their "Best Practices" look like?
