I tried to cancel my subsciption but was not allowed to with out an early disconnect fee. I was told I would have to continue paying for one year before I could cancel it. It has been one year and I have paid them $537.20 for a year of dsl that never not even once ever worked and no one tried to help me. I just spoke with a CSR for the company who tried to belittle me and make me look stupid while he was laughing at me and telling me they would never refund my money.
I was also told I could not cancel until April 1, 2004. When I asked them to send someone out to check the equipment to see I was telling the truth, CSR said they couldn't because my account was already canceled, but I said not until Apr 1st so you have 3 days to send someone out. He said no they would not send someone out and I was just out of my money.

earthlink.net (dsl) never had a problem

POSTED: Monday, March 29, 2004Why should earthlink be responsible for coming to your home to check your phone lines to make sure they are working properly? DSL internet connection works through your existing phone lines and is not their responsibility, it's your local phone company that lays the lines and provides the connection to your home. You should check with whomever provides your phone service to make sure the lines are working properly.
