East Bernstadt Medical Center Charge for service not rendered give incorrect drugs ripoff East Bernstadt Kentucky

I went to see Dr Khon at the East Bernstadt Medical Center in early November. I only went there because it was the only place in the tri county area that I could get in to see the doctor. I had no insurance so I only go to the doctor when there is a serious condition.

I had a chest cold for over a month and it had finally lifted. Days after the coughing stopped my ribs hurt on one side unbearably bad. Lifting my 13 month old baby was nearly impossible. I've had pains in the past but nothing compared to this. I was worried that there may be a serious problem and figured that I probably needed an xray just to rule out the fear of broken or cracked rib, pleurisy, or something of that nature.

I paid $42 for an office visit I did not recieve. The doctor simply listened to my chest through a thick sweater on time. Acted as though he was terrified to get within 4 feet of me and mashed a finger into the bruised area on my side. (broken veins and bruising in the sore area). He asked if I'd ever had asthma, I told him that I had as a child. Then he asked if I had Insurance. He left the room and came back with a bag full of sample drugs.

While I appreciate the fact that the medications would have been free, they had nothing to do with my reason for being there. One was skelaxin (muscle relaxer) the other was for osteoperosis and clearly states on the side effects do not take this drug if you've ever had asthma. Another of the many side effect is upper respritory infection,and has been known to cause chemical dependency.

I asked the doctor point blank if there was any possibility that I had a broken rib or pleurisy. And went on to tell him that pain relief wasn't really why I was there, I was just simply concerned that I may have something more serious and wanted to rule out the option. He says to me "It is possible you could have broken rib, but if you do there is little can be done". I just said ok, paid for an exam I still did not feel that I recieved and left.

I called the chief of staff later the same day and explained to her how I felt. She insisted that I take the drugs and if I didn't feel better in a week I could get an xray. I did not take the drugs I deposited them where they belong in the trash and took only ibuprofen for inflammation. Now after having dealt with this for over two months the pain has finally subsided to a dull achy feeling.

I will never return to this clinic. Wouldn't take a pet there for any reason. It's no wonder to me that it was the only place in the tri county area with an open slot that day.
