SEO Reputation Management at its best!

I started off by just selling the machines for extra cash. I was bamboozled into becoming a dealer-big mistake! I was told that I had to buy multiple success kits (which I did), 2 separate websites, 2 800 numbers, promotional materials, and sales leads. The sales leads alone were $300, and that was maybe 3 or 4 leads. I was told that I would have support from my sales manager but at the scheduled conference calls, she was never available.

The machines are very very expensive-and broke down often. I would have to loan my new machines to my customers who had broken machines-it was one problem after another.

To sum up my experience with Ecoquest-it's similar to a cult. You are brainwashed into thinking that you'll be independently wealthy, driving a free car, and living mortgage free. But in reality-you're scamming other people, who most of the time, are as desperate as you are for money, and going into further debt. When I finally gave up and realized that I had made the biggest mistake of my life, I was 40K in debt because I had run up my credit cards for the success kits, sales leads, promotional items, websites, 800 numbers, seminar fees-and had to file bankruptcy.

Words of advice-if you are heartless and ruthless, go for it. If you have no heart or empathy for others, this business if for you. You will convince others to create a dream of becoming independently wealthy-and take their money. Bottom line-Ecoquest is a SCAM.

My prior experience with Ecoquest International

AUTHOR: Benthere - (U.S.A.)

Some years back I and my wife joined this company when it was still fairly young. I searched the web looking to find the positives and negatives. There were mostly positives provided by the representatives' web sites and the company's representatives always had a pat answer for the negatives (which you still run across today!)

We left this company because the company will fail its members who are trying to retail the products or grow their business by adding members to their downline. The meetings that I attended would not stress the machine issue but really stressed building their downlines which the Pyramid Schemes do.

Most of the people that I ran across who were supposed to be successful didn't spend much time selling any machines and they could care less about the problems that their downlines had with the products. Some of the products were disasters. As far as the company warranties, you could send a machine in for repair and it would come back with the same problem. The water machines were a joke. They are very expensive to buy but are made with cheap inferior parts. 95% of the machines that we purchased for re-sale would never last 6 months. 10% of those machines would last one month and 5% would fail in one day.

One of the concepts that they were marketing was the Wind Generator that was in development that you could attach to the roof of your home, I believe. They milked that concept for months talking about how Ecoquest members would become rich with selling that product. I doubt if it ever made it out of development

If Ecoquest products are so great and the company is so great then why don't they sell the machines in stores? They mention that they want their members to reap the rewards but companies like Wal-Mart, Target, Sears, etc would not put up with the likes of Ecoquest and how they treat the people who buy their products. When consumers can't return their products to the company for a refund or a raw deal, tough luck! When you buy it at Wal-Mart they will honor their refund policies and you will hopefully be satisfied.

One of the things that the company likes to stress is the "Christian Ethics" of many of its members especially the higher ups. Keep your eyes open, the dollar means more to them than Christian Values. This is a business! We warned the people of the company that the water machines that they were producing needed to be re-called. Many of them developed leaks and would cause a person to receive a shock when using a leaking machine. If you couldn't see a machine was sitting in some water you could be shocked by it. Imagine a young child. The people at Ecoquest knew about this and did nothing to re-call or repair the flawed products. And they claim to care about people and are Christians.

EcoQuest is a model for how Corporate America should be run!

AUTHOR: Denb - (U.S.A.)

I have been working with EcoQuest for a couple of years now. I have struggled at times but decided to stay with it as I'm not a quitter. There has been a learning curve - both in the product technology as well as selling/servicing techniques.

Evertime I have gotten down, I was able to get on multiple FREE training calls and/or recorded audios hosted by the most successful business owners out there who give freely of their time without charging anyone for their time. It didn't seem to matter to them that they would recieve NO Profit from anything I did. The giving attitude I've seen from these successful people has been above and beyond anything I ever expected.

I continue to follow the "soft-sales" methods they teach, with a caring attitude toward my prospective new customers, while attempting to solve thier problems and have been well rewarded with a petty good sales record. I have never "pushed" anyone faster or harder then they were ready for - either a new customer or a prospective new dealer - This is what I have been taught.

The company employes and most of the business owners I have met have been extremely helpful and encouraging. They promote and use strong Christian morals, vlaues and ethics.

Two of the most successful individuals have written some great books:

"In God We Trust - Jon Bender - available at most book outlets

"Like a Tree" - Mitchell Tolle - available at http://www.mitcheltolle.com

I highly recommend these two books if you are considering EcoQuest as a prospective new business opportunity. Take your time deciding - get these books and read them to see the caliber of people who work with this company.

For every product line EcoQuest has they holds patents. They are a "Healthy Living Technologies" company. The products work. The air purifiers hold the "Certified Space Technology" Space Foundation Certification. They use an ACTIVE air cleaning technology, as opposed to a passive technology. They work! I have customers who have used passive air cleaners prescribed by doctors who won't do without their EcoQuest purifiers, because they work for them and the passive ones didn't. Two of the nutritional products hold the NSF (see www.nsf.org) certification and are the ONLY two products allowed for use in Major League Basseball training centers. Wow!

There is so much good coming out of this company and its dealers - more than I can say here. If a few dealers out there are not practicing the high standards promoted by the company and the dealers, it's a shame. However, they tend to not last and the ones left are the good ones.

The products are great! The company stands by them and their business owners. There are over 700 employes working at the Greenvile plant. Take a tour of the place and see the caliber and satisfaction of the people working there. Try the products for yourself. Get on some of the FREE training calls and find out what these people are teaching - both in how-to and in improving attitudes and being a servant of the customers and new people we work with.

I believe EcoQuest sets the standard of what a compny should be!

Yes Indeed-EcoQuest Products are JUNK

AUTHOR: Whatwasithinking - (U.S.A.)

Ecoquest products are junk! I'd loan my new machines to the people who had machines that were in need of repair. Try selling a machine that was already used!

CWFH-been there, done that. I tried it for 2 years. Believe me, the 800 #s, the promotional material, the leads, the conference calls-add up to be a signifigant amount of money. To the distributor-I hope you do succeed! Most people don't. Even thinking about my the time I spent in Ecoquest-gives me the chills. Just don't be afraid to walk away when you're not coming out on top.

My husband worked for Ecoquest........

AUTHOR: Annette B. - (U.S.A.)

* My husband worked for Ecoquest Holding for 6+ years, in a salaried position*

Ecoquest is indeed a shady company, it's nothing more than MLM. My husband says that the number of products returned to be "repaired" is just astounding. The company routinely releases products without proper testing and research. Just recently, they sold orders for a product that was not even in production yet, leading to LOTS of upset people. I also have family members that work in customer service, who agree that Ecoquest products are absolute junk. Not to mention the people who lose their money trying to sell this junk. I realize there are dealers who profit tremendously from Ecoquest, I have met many of the top dealers and they possess that air of "used car salesman" sleaziness. I understand that some people are down on their luck and need a way to bring in some income....THIS IS NOT THE WAY TO MAKE MONEY!

Please save yourself the shame of being associated with Ecoquest. Their reputation is awful, and I can't imagine it will be too long before the doors are closed.........Or perhaps they'll just change their name like they did 6 years ago.

Sorry to hear your experience was not a positive one...

AUTHOR: Thinkingclearly - (U.S.A.)

I understand that some dealers or lines of sponsorship may violate the guidelines clearly laid out by company policy and leading marketing groups, and I'm sorry to hear of your experience.

In searching for legitimate opportunities on the web, I came across negative information about the company and its practices as well, it nearly caused me to quit in my first week.

I decided to do a thorough investigation of the company, its products, its claims and its promises. After two weeks of reading through all of the positive and negative information on sites all over the web, then weighing them against what was being taught from the marketing websites, what company policy had to say, what leadership says about the quality of its products, what the statistics say about product quality and so on, I am more than impressed with the legitimacy of the company, its leadership and its marketing arms, though I can only speak for the CWFH marketing arm that I am familiar with.

The company is the first to admit that they had some significant ups and downs with product quality in the first several years. They also tackled the product quality problem in a big way, streamlining their repair facility for quick turn-around and improving the quality and longevity of the products by improving the components most affected by failure. The warranties was also significantly extended.

With CWFH, the 800 number is included in the nominal monthly cost for the optional marketing system. It's use or addition of other numbers is optional. All of the websites are included either as standard from EcoQuest International as part of the dealer package or from the optional marketing system... included in the nominal cost of each.

You *are* encouraged to retail the product, and to have some on-hand so that when you have a sale you don't have to wait for shipment. There *are* various recommended sales packs with recommended quantities of products. A larger inventory may earn you a larger commission, which could be viewed as *front-loading*, however you cannot buy a sales manager position on your own dime without being exceedingly stupid or naive.

So far, none of this is different from setting up a traditional retail store.

The products and product technologies are the most proven in the industry with millions of units in the field, thousands, possibly tens of thousands of positive testimonials. Two major university studies on the effectiveness of the technologies used, the enthusiastic support of a world renowned scientist, the award of the Space Certified designation for the effective use of technology designed for use in space being utilized on earth. Interest from the department of defense because of the technologies ability to attack and kill MRSA, Staph, Mold, Bacteria and even Flu Viruses such as the Avian (Bird Flue) Virus.

Finally, nobody has ever told me that building a successful dealership would be easy, just worth the effort. Leadership from the CEO of the company to the leaders of the marketing arms have continuously said that their system rewards people who work hard and is no free lunch.

As with any business that allows people from any walk of life the same opportunity, there will be some who succeed massively and some who fail to succeed at all. Its all just a cross section of society starting out on a level playing field. Each person makes of it what they will.

As for your experience, it is possible that poor advise was given to you by your managers. It's also possible that the tried and proven advise was given, and mis-interpreted.

This kind of company does not achieve a 20-year plus track record by ripping people off, but by creating legitimate opportunity for those willing to work. Those who either get it wrong or make poor choices will tend to blame the system rather than acknowledge that they made some poor assumptions or choices.

Machines and Warranties

AUTHOR: Whatwasithinking - (U.S.A.)

I was told time and time again to keep x # o machines in stock, and did just that. I was told how easy it was to sell them, they sold themselves. Not true-especially in this economy-most people I dealt with didn't have an $600 to spend. The machines broke down constantly-and really- I can't remember what the warranties state, but do know that they were unreliable. Good Luck! If you feel that you're being pressured by your sales manager and aren't comfortable, get out. I made the mistake of hanging in there for 3 long years, wealth was only an arm's reach away. Please do your research before you do anything.

Regarding Ecoquest Dealer

AUTHOR: Thomas - (U.S.A.)

It is my understanding that Ecoquest does not require you to buy or sale a quota or number of units it is your own choice as to how many that you would like to sale. Is this correct? If so, why did you purchase so many machines? Also, are you stating that Ecoquest does not honor the warranty for its machines? I am looking to become a dealer and wanted to get this information based on your experience.

Thanks

UPDATE

AUTHOR: Whatwasithinking - (U.S.A.)

I started off by just selling the machines for extra cash-very hard to sell at a price of $599. I was bamboozled into becoming a distributor-big mistake! I was told that I had to buy multiple success kits (which I did), 2 separate websites, 2 800 numbers, promotional materials, sales leads and the list goes on! The sales leads alone were $300, and that was maybe only 3 or 4 leads...the leads were people looking for a get rich quick scheme. I was told that I would have support from my sales manager but at the scheduled conference calls, she was never available, her phone would ring and ring...I had my prospective "business partner" on the phone with me and I would be so embarressed. The machines are very very expensive-and broke down often. I would have to loan my new machines to my customers who had broken machines...and then resell the one that had to be loaned out. It was one problem after another!

To sum up my experience with Ecoquest-it's similar to a cult. You are brainwashed into thinking that you'll be independently wealthy, driving a free car, and living mortgage free if you follow their proven recipe. But in reality-you're scamming other people, who most of the time, are as desperate as you are for money, and all the while, going further in debt...because who cares? You're going to be rich one day!!! I lived and breathed my business....made my sales calls, was on all the conference calls, spent all my money on leads. I explained to my sales manager what a financial position my business was putting me in, she would have me buy more leads...with the last available amount of money left on my mastercard...even after she knew my electricity was turned off!

When I finally woke up 3 years later, I realized that I had made the biggest mistake of my life. I was 40K in debt because I had run up my credit cards for the success kits, sales leads, promotional items, websites, 800 numbers, seminar fees-and had to file bankruptcy. So to add to the failure of my "home based business", I also had to deal with the consequences of bankruptcy. I was left with nothing...came very close to losing my home. And did my sales manager care? No, I was the "diamond in the rough"!!!

I now have a real job with a great company!!! I may not have a free car, but I have a nice new car that I pay for. I work for a large international company, and have worked hard and gotten promotions. I feel good! I feel like I'm doing something legitimate and worthy!!! I felt cheap working with EcoQuest. And it makes me feel good to write this and inform others of the truth.

Words of advice-if you are heartless and ruthless, and can take other people's hard earned money...money they may not even have, go for it! If you have no heart or empathy for others, this business if for you, because you will need very thick skin. In order to become successful, you have to be able to create a dream for your "business partners" and hope they don't see through smoke. To be a sales manager, you had better be able to manage feelings of being a thief.

Bottom line-Ecoquest is a SCAM. Run as fast you can.
