On January 14, 2014, I was in Kissimmee, FL on business, and after a long day of work I went to my hotel room to relax.  At about 7:30 a flyer appeared under my door advertising delicious pizza.  It also said the pizza was 20% off for hotel Guests.  At 9:20 I called and ordered the medium pizza with regular crust for $12.99.  Adding pepperoni was $1.75 for a total of $14.74.  Minus 20% should have totalled $11.79.  They guy quoted me 45 minutes and $19.07.  That would mean the delivery charge and tax would be $7.28...  more than HALF the cost of the pizza.  I was tired and hungry, so I didn't question it and just paid by phone.  He took my cell number so the driver could call for me to meet him in the lobby.

Within minutes, I checked my bank account to see if the charge had processed, but it had processed for $20.37.  I was shocked and decided I would question the driver when he arrived.  At 10:17 I called to check on my order as it had been about an hour.  The man said they had three deliveries headed to my area and the driver was seven minutes away.  I went to the lobby to wait and expedite the process.  

At 10:30 I called again, but there was no answer.  I called five more times in 15 minutes and they didn't answer at all.  I began to panic.  I thought that maybe it was a scam to get credit card numbers and that the pizza didn't exist.  I asked the front desk clerk if he knew about this place and he got a scary look on his face and said, "You didn't order from there, did you?"  I affirmed that I had, and he said, "They're terrible.  We call the police on them all the time.  They aren't allowed in here.  They either take three hours to deliver or they don't ever show up."

I called again and didn't get an answer.  I assumed they knew my number so they weren't answering on purpose.  The clerk called from the hotel line and the man answered immediately.  He handed me the phone and I asked the guy to just cancel my order and refund my charge.  He agreed and that was it.

At 11:00 I got a call from the driver saying that he had arrived.  I said that I cancelled the order and just wanted my money back.  I knew that if I took that pizza it would have been cold and nasty anyway.  I'd rather be hungry than spend $20.00 on a gross pizza.  He told me that he'd refund the money, but I could still keep the pizza.  He said, "You can take the pizza, it won't hurt me."  I thanked him but still declined the pizza.  

The next day, the charge was still there, so I called.  They said they'd take care of it right away.  I called again on January 17th and they said to give them a few business days for the refund to process.  It is January 26th and the charge is still there.  

I went online to TripAdvisor and found similar horror stories.  This place is running a scam by accepting more orders than they can handle and then not refunding money.  I want my $20.37 back.  I paid money and didn't receive anything.  How is that legal?

Hi Joe -

Thanks for your response and for texting the owner.  At this point he has not contacted me nor have I received my refund.  I appreciate your recommendation to double my money, but I would just settle for my $20.37 back.  If I don't receive it in a week, I am going to ask the BBB to get involved as well as local police in Kissimmee.  

Again, I want to thank you for going out of your way to contact the owner and responding to me.  You must be a great guy.

i know the owner of the shop personally and he is not aware of these actions,...untill now...i've texted him instructions to read this...i cant make him fix this issue but now he knows,...its his business...i hope he takes action...i suggested he needs to double your money back because of this fraud and frustration...thanks for your time tim.
