Corporate Advocacy Program™
After bilking me of $700 in medical services, they insisted I obtain further diagnostic services in the form of an ultrasound at Dover Veterinary Hospital, by John MacGregor, DVM.
Dr. MacGregor insisted that my elderly dog was treatable, where she remained in a cage on fluids, despite being unable to eat for an entire WEEK! All the while personell & reports were citing IMPROVEMENT!!
At the end of one week or $3000, I was told that my dog was infact uncurable and DYING, and finally suggested euthanasia. This was accomplished by Cathy Gajewski, DVM without informed consent via a CRUEL, INHUMANE method.
Futhermore BOTH clinics are involved in the "teaching ring" for benefit of Great Bay Community College vet tech program, of Stratham, NH , Margaret Nicol (formally a/k/a Peggy MacGregor, VMD)program director
Both College & Dover clinic soon to be relocated to Portsmouth----BEWARE
DO NOT allow your dying pet to be a teaching tool, ask questions--long before illness or aged
Ask if veterinarian possesses license for humane narcotics: pain relief & euthanasia

legal discovery showed otherwise

I am compelled to update my report from 2008, now that several years of legal discovery and impending lawsuit has come to a close.
You are right in one respect, it came to light, during discovery that several of the Veterinarians involved did not have license nor access to humane euthanasia drug. As a matter of fact, Dover Veterinary Hospital in 2006 , and prior years, and several post years was running a peer-assistance program, sanctioned by the NH PHP and under the Veterinary Practice Act, to rehabilitate substance abuser veterinary licensed professionals, by offering a completely narcotic-free facility.
My dog was in the dying process, as evidenced by her laboratory work, x-ray, and ultrasound, all peer-reviewed and indisputable.
Euthanasia was refused, and unfortunately the reason why (not having humane and legal, moral, ethical means, was never disclosed)
And yes, on that 7th day, of being unable, un-willing, and never IV or tube-fed; her death was accomplished and administered in my presence, in the cruelest , inhumane manner ever witnessed, by the sole substance of potassium chloride while my dog was fully conscious.
Thank you for reminding me to update this report. To NH residents: Ask yourselves why the New Hampshire Veterinary Practice Act was modified in 2008 to include thepossible licensing of veterinarians with a prior criminal record including "felonies". It sure isn't to protect the NH Consumer.

That said, I do not believe that they were doing unjustified scientific experiments on your dog. It sounds like your vet was performing the logical steps of treatment before coming to the adverse conclusion leading to euthanasia. And IV fluids, once started, are painless too.
It's unfortunate, but during times of stress there can be and IS a lot of misunderstanding going on.
I do this for a living, by the way. And I'm an absolute sucker for animals and struggle to make the best decisions I can.
