Edison Pointe, formally known as candlewood apartments, consistently fails to meet even the most basic expectations for an apartment complex.  Should you be deceived and miss the potholes that flourish on their roads - or as happened to me, find the sales associate very knowledgeable and presume that the others in the office are as well and sign a lease you will be in for a nightmarish hell.

First, when you move in, do not expect the heater/ac/hot-water/or any other appliance to work - you will have to call maintenance for that and wait.  However, the cold water in the shower will work, so you'll just have to freeze until they get around to it.

Second, after your first month.
Should the apartment above you flood - due to maintenance leaving the water on, and you have water pouring into your apartment, please be aware that maintenance considers this a trivial thing and will not promptly respond.  (Also, should you have to do any work in one of their flooded apartments, please realize that they don't turn off the electricity to the affected apartment either.)  Also, should you need anything from maintenance whatsoever, please be prepared to be stonewalled.  (It took almost 9 weeks for me to convince them that screens were needed in a second story window, and that the screens from the unoccupied flooded apartments would work.) 

Third, after your first 90 days.
You should expect maintenance to take it upon themselves to enter your garage at their leisure, remove parts of your garage door opener without your knowledge or consent, and then lie to you about it.  Now, please do not be confused about the contract that you signed stating that maintenance will not service ANY garage door openers due to the fact that they do not provide them.  This merely means that they will not do so with your prior knowledge.   When you call maintenance to inquire about the break-in they will tell you to file a police report.  After you have filed the police report, the main office will request a copy of the police report for your file.  When you inform them they will have to request one by themselves for their records, they will try to tell you that they are really busy and can't be bothered by your trivialities.  When you tell them that you would like your property secured they will first tell you they will talk to maintenance about this, then later tell you that they will not secure your garage because maintenance needs to be able to get in and fix your garage door should the need arise.  (Yes, we are talking about the same maintenance that enters without your knowledge or permission and removes parts of your garage door opener.)  Next should you press them about breaking into your garage, they will claim they had a work order.  Remember that paper you signed saying that they would not service a garage door - ya, well they don't.  When you ask for a copy of the work order they will claim that the one who printed off the order is gone for the day, but will be back tomorrow.  When you come in tomorrow they have conveniently manufactured one.  Now in regards to any property you lost because they left your garage unlocked for days on end and did not tell you - well that's what your renter's insurance is for!
