I payed with pay pal and they took my payment right away. They emailed me asking for my Social Security number, I told them I did not feel comfortable providing it and I asked if they could work without it... They geve me no response.

They have a 1-3 day garauntee, so after 3 days I filed a dispute with pay pal. Immediatly after I filed my dispute they emailed me and told me they can get the report without my SSN, providing I drop the dispute.

Stupidly, I beleved them. THEY LIED! Since I dropped my dispute they have ignored every email I have sent and it has been long past the garaunteed time for them to get my report. They told me they would get my report if I dropped my dispute, I dropped it and they got me nothng. These scamming b@#$@%s will take your 30$ if you let them, but if you give them your SSN watch out! Boy am I glad I didn't give them my social. If you take deception to scale, the damage these dishonest ripoff masters could do with someone's social is insane.

Don't buy a report from efindoutthetruth.com, they keep your money and give you nothing!

They've referred this issue to their attorney... mmmmm hmmmm.

AUTHOR: Steph L. - (United States of America)

We've been in a bit of an "argument" with efindingoutthetruth.com regarding credits we paid for but we felt we were short changed on.  We bought in 'bulk' from them and found that when we received the email stating we'd used all our credits came, we didn't really think that was the case.

At any rate, they decided they wanted to drop our account because we're aggressive, blah, blah, blah.  That's fine.  However, we were a bit ticked off about the way they were treating us so posted our experiences online.  Fair enough, right?  This is the age of the internet and if you're going to have such appalling service, be prepared to have some people let the rest of the world know what they think about your service.

Efindoutthetruth.com was then very true to their personality and wrote us an email saying we were no longer going to get the credits we paid for because we were slandering them online.  Good idea?  Not so much.

Now we're even more upset and filed a complaint with the BBB.  The response they give to the BBB is below.  I find it interesting they're "discussing with an attorney".  Fear tactics aren't really the best way to go in my opinion.

Greetings BBB representative,

I am including past correspondence from the customer below for your reference within the BBB. Please note that the first correspondence from the customer was met with a reply that they had 35 checks left. You will note that they later amended this number to a lower number but they were still incorrect. We stand by our tally of their account total and they are not owed any extra credit. They have at this time 2 search credits for basic background checks and 4 credits for credit reports. They purchased in bulk to lock in a lower per search cost and so that they did not have to check out via the website each time they wanted to place an order.

The tone regarding this account has been consistently negative, accusatory, and their expectations not reasonable (You'll see how negative, accusatory, and how unreal our expectations were in the sample email efindoutthetruth.com was so kind to put at the bottom of their rebuttal to the BBB). The majority of the negativity began when they decided to start running credit checks. They found the regulations surrounding credit reports in general too tedious to deal with. The process of faxing or emailing a signed release from the subject and then checking out on our website was the first reason they decided to threaten to close the account. We did not make up these regulations it is the law regarding this type information retrieval. The account has multiple users and in the past this is where discrepancies have arisen on their end. Further they do provide quite a few incorrect SSN's as well (social security numbers) which are also tallied against their account.

We had offered to provide courtesy credits to Ms Lee in order to reconcile the account to her liking even though she was never owed any credit. We next pointed out to her that we would not be able to renew her bulk payment option moving forward due to the numerous and ongoing issues with the account. She immediately starting leaving defamatory slanderous statements about our company on any review site she could find. She also enlisted the help of a friend (or perhaps she is simply using other names online to avoid detection) (For the record, I'm the "friend" but in reality, I'm the director of the company who was appalled at their customer service and felt obliged to let others know what type of company they'd be dealing with.) to assist her in slandering our company name online as well. We have referred this issue to our attorney at this time and are looking into pursing any viable legal remedy available to us. These numerous online comments oddly began appearing after we had given Ms Lee what she was requesting in terms of courtesy credits. The courtesy credits are no longer available to her. We will gladly conduct the remaining checks left in her account but there are no refunds on prepaid bulk accounts. A copy of our terms of use and disclaimer is found here: http://www.efindoutthetruth.com/disclaimer.htm Please contact me with any further questions and thank you for your assistance.

Subject: RE: Prepaid Bulk Account Renewal
Hi Michelle,
Is there any way we can get a list of the names we have requested background checks for? We bought 100 background checks on June 3rd 2011 when I believe we still had 8 background checks left. That means we had a total of 108 paid for on June 3rd. Since then, our records indicate we have only requested 73 background checks so we should have 35 left.
Thank you,

To think this all could have been avoided if  they just would have worked with us on giving us the credits we paid for.  Could have been a simple thing and now we're writing hate letters back and forth.  Weird.

So, here's another review for you efindoutthetruth.com.  My purpose is to let people know that if they do happen to review efindoutthetruth.com online and give anything but glowing statements, they may get a threatening email stating that they've committed slander and defamation and legal action may be taken.  :)    Seems to be a trend with that company.

************************************************************
Some things you may want to look at before using efindoutthetruth.com.
************************************************************
1) Google "efindoutthetruth.com scam"  or "efindouthetruth.com reviews"

2) Check out their BBB complaint #s.  They may have a high rating but I can tell you as a person that's has a $45M business for 15+ years that we've had maybe 3 complaints over 15 years.  Right now, they have 5 in the last year.  If you've had trouble with them, I'd encourage you to file a BBB complaint.  It's free and easy, doesn't cost a lot of money, and will help even more people understand what the company is like.

3) Re-read the thread above and ask yourself if you've ever heard of such horrible customer service.  It's almost laughable.  But, from experience, it's not so funny when it's you they're being that rude to when they're in the wrong.

"Interesting" customer service technique

AUTHOR: Janon - (United States of America)

Just like the above poster from 2008, I too was possibly interested in doing business with this company, but as with any online business I've never worked with, decided to do a simple search and came across this "interesting" example of so-called customer service.

As a person who has worked in the service industry for many years, I find this absolutely appalling!  Particularly due to the service being offered by efindoutthetruth.com.  They can easily obtain confidential information (perhaps even wrongfully as suggested in other statements) and then post it on the web in a public forum & then berate the customer?

Please.  You should know by now that the customer is always right... even when s/he is not! Regardless to the mistake(s) made by the customer, you as professionals should NEVER treat him the way you did.

Shame on you.

I am shocked at all of this

AUTHOR: I Detest Scammers - (U.S.A.)

This is late but I was a potential customer with this company and I am glad I stopped here before actually going through my purchase. For any owner or employee of a company to get on a public website and speak so nastily to a customer "irate' or not is just insane. I understand the personal loyalty people feel to their places of business but in customer service you cease contact with uncooperative clients- you do not use phrases like 'on the rag' and idiot and the likes. That makes me extremely uncomfortable, what if I have an issue with something, instead of customer service will I get called nasty names and my personal information published?

I also do not like that there is no live person to speak with...I was willing to overlook but after reading all this...I just can not work with this company, which is a shame because thus far I have been searching for a reliable background checking site to use...

Now I will say that the customer did not follow obvious instructions and seemed to cause a lot of the delay himself, but it seems as if this error could have been pointed out to him initially and cleared up then?? I do not know, I see how an employee with the company is upset about being listed as a rip off but at the same time, you can not show such blatant disrespect to customers like Tiffany and whoever else posted did here...I worked in customer service for a long time, I worked for a company who is listed on this report as well, I've responded to such complaints and try to be helpful where I can and I do see some less than legitimate complaints, but I never resorted to name calling and posting financial receipts on a live website..that is extreme and very irresponsible.

Steven, you're about a year too late and rooting for the wrong team!

AUTHOR: Cindy - (U.S.A.)

I have been watching things about this company for quite some time now and I must say, Steven, that you assume too much with your post.

The personal info posted was removed/edited by a moderator to protect the victim's privacy, it was originally posted here by efindoutthetruth in several responses.

you're definition of "arrested" and that of what would be included in a criminal background check are 2 completely different things.

If a person is taken to a cell and detained for questioning but never finger printed or "booked" I do not believe it shows as "arrested" on any reports, let alone something that would be publicly accessable. Certainly a traffic stop would NOT be considered an arrest either, now you are just sounding ridiculous. Yeah, maybe the technical term for any official interaction with the law is "arrested" but I think you are clearly trying to exaggerate.

Regardless, the company abused information they obtained by publishing it all over the internet. This is information that they are obligated to protect because of their highly regulated line of business. The company got paid by the consumer, paid in ADVANCE might I add, then after the fact they delivered the time-sensitive product late to the point it was useless they tried to drag this poor person's name through the mud!

Many people have paid and recieved nothing at all from this company. It baffles me that you would defend them.

Steven, wake up!

efindoutthetruth has been reported numorous times to government consumer protection groups. The complaint file is getting bigger by the day and I speculate that Lisa and Tiff may be too deep now to avoid jail time. Best of luck rooting for the bad guys Steven!

You have demonstrated that what these people do is not all that complicated nor time-consuming. They obviously are young & quite inexperienced and need to learn a LOT about customer service. They also need to learn how NOT to make fools of themselves in public. Their responses to this discussion have done more than anything else to warn people away from their unprofessional little company!

OOOPPPPS

AUTHOR: John - (U.S.A.)

I looked up a few other things. Seems Cingular has filed for an injuction to keep these gals from getting cell phone billing information. Also looks like Congress has subpeonaed Lisa to give a reasonable explaination as to why they were doing this. Looks like they were gagging the phone companies pretending to be someone they weren't to get information to cell phone bills, like perhaps a mistrusting spouse that wants to know who her husband has been calling and who is calling him. Privacy girls!!!!!! No doubt you wouldn't want someone to share Tiffany's recent DUI with the whole world would you?

The Federal Trade Commission is weighing in on the subject. If they are still selling these service I expect a heavy fine and an injunction.

Avoid This Company!

AUTHOR: C.a. - (U.S.A.)

The owner of this company sounds amateurish and defensive! What business person in his/her right mind would post these types of replies in a public forum? All it shows is your total lack of professionalism. You're going to keep tabs on this customer and then call HIS place of employment to retaliate? What are you, in junior high?

You obviously should have responded to him sooner if he had a concern, politely explained the policies and differences between the search plans, and tried to serve him as best and professionally as possible. What you did was too little, too late and now you're making it worse with your pouty little postings. That right there would make me avoid you like the plague!

I am purplexed at how it would take days to get something that takes me minutes.

AUTHOR: John - (U.S.A.)

This seems like a lot of work for such a small amount of money though I do understand principle. Lisa Marie Loftus and Tiffany Jo Wey, the president and vice president of efindoutthetruth.com, Inc. are young ladies that have done well for themselves. Looks like Lisa purchased her house for $530,000.00 a couple of years ago.

I won't bother giving the address because it is a mute point and they realy shouldn't have to worry about that kind of thing. It took me 2 minutes to get all the info I needed. I didn't need a social security number and I know way to much about them.

I am purplexed at how it would take days to get something that takes me minutes. Things like car registrations etc.

It seems what they haven't learned is that every time they respond to this dribble it just makes the email chain larger for people to see. The more they address it the less professional they appear and that is probably more age and inexperience than anything else.

What is your problem

AUTHOR: Steven - (U.S.A.)

You indicated that this company has exposed your e-mail address on this page. However, there is no sign of your e-mail address. This tells me that you do not know what you are talking about.

Another thing is that you did state that you were arrested but not convicted, then you say that you were not arrested.

Which is it? Were you arrested and not convicted or were you "never arrested."

For your information, the word "arrested" means detained. A traffic stop is an arrest, but we're not going to go there. I'll just talk about an "arrest" when you are "detained" in a jail cell.

If you were "arrested" (meaning "detained" in a jail cell for "any period of time") you can not honestly state that you were "never arrested."

I don't really what to know if you were arrested, I just wanted to get the truth out.

By making these two statements, you lied. No matter which way the facts are, you lied.

I strongly suggest making a public apology to this company that you seriously afflicted.

Here we are all the way in May and these guys sent me 2 viruses...

AUTHOR: J - (U.S.A.)

Both emails came straight from research@efindoutthetruth.com and were sent at 1am.

One said in the body of the email soething like, "virus name: cool.mp3 in folder: bagel.cmp"

So after recieving 2 of these emails from them I decided to be a nice guy and reply, assuming their PC was infected and they did not know. I emailed them asking that they stop emailing me and that they follow removal instructions, which I provided from a website.

I go to log into my hotmail account today and it is closed.

Hotmail has a policy that ONE spam complaint resuls in an account closure, no investigation, no exceptions.

So, these guys sent me viruses until I finally responded and BAM, they put the request in the next day. I have had my hotmail account for what must be over 5 years and it is not coincidence that I replied to the email from research@efindoutthetruth.com and my hotmail account was shut down the next day.

Yet another reason folks to make an informed decision. I should have never done business with these people, I honestly regret it and I cannot reccomend dealing with them to my worst enemy.

You should still be able to find my results without it from what I understand. If you must have my SSN, please just refund my money and we will both go our separate ways.

paypal though.

Stupidly dropped dispute without receiving product. Was ignored for several sent messages over 2 full days. After being ignored and unable to re-open my Pay Pal dispute I decided to document my experiences on Rip Off report, had I not done this, it is my opinion that they never would have emailed me a reply. Keep in mind they took my payment 8 days prior to this and the advertised turnaround time was 1-3 days. See below:

What part of I WANT MY MONEY BACK did these people not understand?

Finally on the 15th I received what I paid for, by that point I had no interest in seeing it. This was ordered only because I thought I would see it within 3 days.

They posted my personal information on Ripoffreport in an effort to intimidate me, the editor was understanding and edited my personal information.

After it was edited from ripoffreport.com, efindoutthetruth.com then hosted my name, address, phone number, date of birth, and personal email on their website under fraudulent consumer. I paid them and I wrote an honest review, but they list me as a "fraudulent consumer", a term that should be used for people who use a false credit card or something. I paid these people 11 days in advance! And I am "fraudulent"! If every business that got a bad review did this type of stuff they would be shut down in a heartbeat. Almost all of my private information is now the first result on any major search engine, and to top it off I am listed with all my info as a "fraudulent consumer". I also get some extremely suspicious emails all of the sudden, which is no coincidence in my opinion. Unbelievable that these amatures think they can get away with this.

So far, this has been reported to the Better Business Bureau and tomorrow I will be contacting the Florida Attorney General. I also am in the midst of consulting with my legal team. For a company like this to abuse personal information is unacceptable. Efindoutthetruth.com, tell me, what do you do with people's Social Security Numbers? If you do not hesitate to publish a name, address, phone number, birth-date, and email, how careful are you with people's SSN's?

Consumers, keep in mind that when your SSN gets out, virtually anyone can open accounts in your name. Again, thank the Good Lord I did not provide my SSN.

Okay, Danny Boy, or James, or whoever you are. Yes, there is slander here. But, unfortunately YOU do NOT know all of the circumstances. You want to know where slander is?

Where this customer calls us within a public forum, a "ripoff". That is slander. We did not rip him off. There is a big difference with maybe someone not being satisfied, or not having any patience to wait and be responded to as he was long before the specified time frame elapsed. That is what the post should have been if he needed to "make waves". Not stating that our company is a "ripoff". That is an outright LIE! Okay, Danny Boy! Or James! Darn, just can't get it right. SEE THE DATE? I though that I ordered and paid for a State-Wide search, but I didn't want to complain so I just emailed them the county. On the 12th I finally had to direct them here. Keep in mind the advertised turnaround was 1-3 days. At this point all I wanted was my money returned.

And yes, I HAD TO FINALY EMAIL A LINK TO THIS REPORT JUST TO HEAR BACK FROM THESE PEOPLE. And as I predicted, this report motivated them to respond to my email.

I also am not a "criminal" I have never been arrested/convicted of anything, as my background check shows because it is blank.

Finally, I sent my lawyer this information last night to see if I can open a harrasment/threat/invasion of privacy lawsuit. It is currently not in your best interest to publish a webpage with my information, I do not know why a company would risk their shirts just to go after an individual. I am nothing more than a dissatisfied customer, you might want to just let this one go, for the sake of your company. In the public eye, there is much going on right now where the federal government is cracking down on identity theft, spam email organizers, and information sharing organizations. Part of me is right now tempted to contact the media about this. You have cearly threatened my privacy and you posted my personal (hidden) email address right here. you have also planned on publishing a page refferring to my case. You are making some very poor-minded decisions.

You can also clearly see that I demanded my MONEY BACK after nearly 10 full days had passed since my payment was cashed. They totally ignored my refund requests and gave my my report %310 later than the advertised turnaround time from when I ordered.

Like I said before, you picked the wrong guy- I am not stupid, I know the law, I will not be intimidated or scared by your threats, and I will make sure my side of the story is the final word here. If I were you I would really think twice about publishing that link, cut your losses, and walk away.

Here we go again - another lawyer who stayed at Holiday Inn last night

AUTHOR: James - (U.S.A.)

Another threat of lawsuits for slander for a bunch of small time wannabes. You call your customer names in CAPS, then want to complain about him? Incredible!

"We are discussing legal action for slander".

Well, whoever you're discussing it with must be as completely ignorant of the law as you are, because it's libel not slander, moron. And here are a couple of key phrases for you "discussion".

"The court disagreed and dismissed the case stating that an online chat room is a public forum, even if the operator of the chat room controls the content of the statements posted on the site."

"a listserv moderator and operator of a website that allegedly published defamatory material provided by a third party is eligible for immunity under the Commmunications Decency Act (CDA)."

There are pages of case law out there Danny boy, going all the way back to the Prodigy days. Here are just a couple:

Batzel v. Smith, 2003 US App.LEXIS 12736 (9th Cir. 2003). The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that a listserv moderator and operator of a website that allegedly published defamatory material provided by a third party is eligible for immunity under the Commmunications Decency Act (CDA). The case revolves around an email sent by Robert Smith claiming that the plaintiff Batzel was a descendant of Heinrich Himmler and possessed looted paintings. The recipient of the email, Tom Cremers, who was the director of the Musuem Security Network, edited the email and posted it on the Network's website and listserv. Batzel filed suit against both men for defamation. The court held that Cremers was immune from liability under the CDA. The court noted that because Cremer did no more than select and make minor alterations to the email, he cannot be considered a content provider.

Bidbay.com Inc. v. Spry, No. B160126 (Cal. Ct. App, 2d App. Dist., 2003). A California court ruled on Internet chat rooms and the First Amendment. Plaintiff Bidbay.com brought a suit for defamation against Bruce Spry for posting allegedly libelous statements in an online chat room. Spry moved to dismiss the action under California's anti-strategic lawsuits against public participation law (Anti-SLAPP law). California's Anti-SLAPP law allows courts to strike causes of action arising from a defendant's exercise of free speech in a public forum in connection with a public issue. Bidbay.com argued that the Anti-SLAPP law did not apply becusee the online chat room was not a public forum because it had preveneted Bidbay from posting a rebuttal to the statments. The court disagreed and dismissed the case stating that an online chat room is a public forum, even if the operator of the chat room controls the content of the statements posted on the site.

Sorry to call your bluff, but it was just too easy and I couldn't help myself.

All proof is in this final response

AUTHOR: Owner - (U.S.A.)

First of all, turnaround times are all estimated. Not guaranteed. Your report took longer because you wanted to "dilly-dally" with not giving your SSN. I think that took about an extra five days. You ordered a manual onsite countywide criminal record search. There are two VERY clear options. One, countywide criminal record search for $29.95 with SSN and DOB. Second, countywide criminal record search for $34.95 without SSN and DOB. You purchased the $29.95 search. If you wanted to be "difficult" and " stubborn", you should have just ordered the $34.95 countywide search. Then, there would have never been a problem. It almost appears as if you may be one of our competitors with clear intent to cause harm. Now, you even say more slanderous statements that we are submitting your eMail address to supposed "newsletters". Oh, yes. We have nothing else better to do, but sit around and waste our time sending "newsletters" to your hotmail account. If anyone reads this posting, fine. You are a criminal, as you have stated in a previous which you have clearly admitted, so if anyone wants to believe a criminal, fine also. What was meant about you getting a job and putting a "complaint" was let's say you get a job with a credit card company I call customer service and I get you. You say hi, may I have your account number. I turn around and say NO, I don't want to give my account number can't you figure it out?

Yes we seem upset when you call our company a rip off. From the beginning you called us a rip off and we have not ripped you off. So yes we are a little upset.

Below, is all correspondence including dates and times that this customer claims he was ignored for over 48 hours:

We go out on Date: Mon, 10 Jan 2005 01:25:49 -0800 (PST) , same day he ordered, for his SSN, since that is the search he ordered

Joe comes back on Sent: Monday, January 10, 2005 7:27 AM refusing SSN even though he purchased the search requiring his SSN

We go out stating we are still awaiting his SSN on Date: Mon, 10 Jan 2005 09:43:49 -0600

Joe comes back at Wednesday, January 12, 2005 9:23 PM threatening RipOffReport which he already has placed that we are a ripoff on that website

We say to him on Thu 1/13/2005 3:18 AM that his report is in process and we do not appreciate the threats. Mind you. We then had to eat the $5.00 SSN/DOB fee just to stop the complaints

AUTHOR: J - (U.S.A.)

"We will make sure and watch what job you get and we will be sure to be that "difficult" customer and complain about you."

I do not think it is legal for you to monitor what I do with the intent of making things difficult for me.

As far as your "slander" case, you do not have one. Slander, in a written form is reffered to as libel. The problem (for you) is that everything I wrote was true and negative impressions were clearly presented as my opinion. Written opinion and facts do not qualify as grounds for libel, not even close. Despite the fact that a bad review may lead to customers avoiding your service, that is just life, what has been presented is factual data and the numbers tell it all: the report took 10 days when it was advertised as 1-3.

Furthermore, you have just made a threat to infringe upon my privacy. You have also already submitted my email address to newsletters, which is already an infringment of my privacy due to the fact the publisher is not an affiliate of yours. The difference between us is that I know my stuff and I deal with facts, not false promises and threats like you.

Buddy, I am sure a lot of people will want to do business from a company that slings insults at customers. You are making this worse for your business.

If a SSN is required, then you set the form so it will not accept the payment until the form is full, most other online places do this. I also remember a portion of the site that said only name, b-date, and address are required. bottom line is that the form submission should be fixed and your employees should not ignore status requests.

Just looking at your comments to me, many people will be able to see what type of professionals work at your company. Nice going, you must feel proud.

We did not "ignore" your emails. Email questions have a 24 - 48 hour estimated business hour turnaround time. The bottom line is you started off threatening us and you are nothing more than an irrate customer. Had you simply provided your information as asked, nothing would have slowed your report either. Original Author here Don't blame the customer when it was your reaction that caused the outcome.

AUTHOR: J - (U.S.A.)

The reason I wanted to see it was because when I was in my late teen I was arrested with a group of people but we were not convicted of anything. For all I knew, my record was clear, in fact I am not sure if they even booked us, it was so long ago...

But I remember one time going into Canada, again many years ago, a border patrol acted as if I had lied to him about not being arrested. I had just turned 18 and I have heard the border guys try to call bluffs of newly turned 18 year old people, however I did not know this at the time.

I am job searching and I have always maintained the fact I have not been arrested, but I jst wanted to make sure because one employer made it a point that if I am honest they can work around it. So I just wanted to be 100% sure that my record is clean.

In regards to efindoutthetruth.com's response: I would have not put this here if you did not ignore my emails.

BOTTOM LINE: It is bad business to not communicate with your customer. I feel as if I didn't complain to pay pal you guys would not have gave me any report at all. When I asked "how long will it take for my report without my SSN?" you should have frigging responded to me. You ignored my emails where I requested a turnaround estimate, what was I to assume about your legitamacy when you ignore my emails?

Yes I got my report and yes I was expecting it to be blank. However, the way it was presented was more like "okay let's shut this guy up..." No one ever told me a time-frame and I found it odd that my social was requested but not needed, why ask? If I wanted you to have my social I would have given it in the first place, obviosly it let me push the order without it.

WORD OF ADVICE: Next time a customer does not want to give you a SSN, and you know it will take longer to get the report, you send them an email saying how long it will take. It is bad business to just ignore someone for several days.

Action+reaction=Outcome.

You take money for a service + you ignore a customer's SIMPLE question and take longer than advertised to deliver = you get a bad review.

If you had tailored your reaction an just answered m email when I asked how long it would take this outcome would have been avoided.

Have a nice day!

Customer Who Cannot Follow Instructions

AUTHOR: Tiffany - (U.S.A.)

Everything that a customer needs to provide in order to run each search is listed on the website. The reason this search took so long is because we had to go round and round with this customer about giving his ssn. When he got his results as you will see he then complains that the full ssn was not listed. This is for confidentiality reasons. It does not mean the search was not adequately completed. The search this individual ordered is a delayed manual onsite search that is guaranteed for accuracy. Therefore, if this individual feels they did not receive accurate information they need only prove that to receive a refund. The bottom line is this search was completed accurately and would have been completed in the estimated turnaround window had this customer simply followed instructions.

Free access to public records

AUTHOR: Nicole - (U.S.A.)

Anything an employer can check on you, you can access for free at your local records office (possibly in the courthouse or city hall). It's call free access to public records. They don't even have to be your records. You can get birth, death, criminal, sex offender, marriage, and divorce records plus probably more. And its free. Companies like this just want you to think you would have to pay, but you don't. By the way, shouldn't you know what is on your record? And if you do, why do you need to see it? Just wondering

Finally recieved my report, it was useless..

AUTHOR: J - (U.S.A.)

So my report finally came, since I applied for my job so long ago it really didn't matter anymore. I knew my record was clean, but I just wanted to see it. Unfortunatly, by the time I got this report it was useless to me. I asked for my money back because they were so late but they gave me the report instead. I would be happy if I had got my money back. But at least I got a "reprt".

I am a little skeptical of the report because it looks like they should have filled the sociel, and because they didn't a field is not completed. Granted that I held back my social, they told me they could do my check without it. Anyways, finally got a report, asked for my money back, but I got a report instead.

I would still not recommend this sevice. It took 10 full days to get my report, that's just unacceptable.

When a customer asks for his/her money back, it should be returned. Giving this type of service late is pointless.

And I was dumb enough to believe them. No emails back to me, no report, they act as if I don't exist. I even sent an email to all of their departments I could find and I have heard nothing!

Maybe this report will get their attention.

Here is what I have to say to efindoutthetruth.com:

I PAID YOU. YOU GAVE ME NO REPORT. I NEED MY MONEY TO EAT, JUST BE RESPECTFUL AND GIVE IT BACK. IT IS NOT YOUR MONEY, YOU DID NOT EARN IT.

Right now I am in between jobs so believe me, I plan on spending some time on getting my money back. You picked the wrong guy this time.
