The refrigerator started having problems right away. After the 5th repair visit I pushed Electrolux for a new refrigerator. After a painfully frustrating period, it became apparent that Electrolux was not going to stand behind it's products; and in fact was stonewalling until the warranty expired.
We consulted with an attorney who advised us to work through Best Buy (place of purchase), to effect an exchange. When that bogged down, due to Electrolux policy, we were advised by counsel to drop the defective appliance at the Best Buy return desk and video our process of leaving it there.
Upon advising Best Buy that the moving company would be delivering the refrigerator to it's store on Saturday morning, they got us an exchange. We negotiated for a refrigerator manufactured after summer of 2011. This was to assure us the replacement product would have the new "fixes" installed at the factory.
The replacement refrigerator has been running well for almost 9 months with only 2 minor service calls.
The ovens have worked, albeit slow, for 20 months. We just used the self clean feature, for the first time, last weekend. The next day we set the oven temps just a guests arrived. The electronics displayed everything as normal - but no heat.
We shut off the breakers to the ovens hoping for a reset, but that did not work. Next was a search of the manual for a reset process. No help. We then called Electrolux "service" for help. The service representative could not help us - it was a weekend - and told us someone would call on Monday.
No one called by Monday afternoon. We called Electrolux. Electrolux informed us that service would call shortly. We got a call a few minutes later from an independent service company informing us that a technician would come out but it will cost a hundred dollars and he will tell us then how much it costs to repair the ovens. Electrolux service didn't even mention warranty status.
Please note that this appears to be a known defect. Read the Blogs. Do NOT believe the marketing. This company creates junk and heartache. It is obvious that management could care less and this attitude has become the core culture at Electrolux. Save yourself the pain, Do not buy Electrolux
