Elite Constructions, Elite Remodeling sloppy work, poor attention to detail, substandard results Washington District of Columbia

Hired Elite to repaint recarpet, and install new vinyl flooring in some areas of our home. Total cost, about $10K. Subcontractors were hired by Elite for each task. Contractor was not onsite for most of the job, except to pick up check. The painters didn't sand where necessary, didn't fill all holes, painted over outlets, broke things, didn't use dropcloths, spilled paint. Student painters do a better job.

The carpet guys came next and, while using X-acto knives to cut the carpet, made deep slices in the baseboards in many areas. Also left some sort of plastic bag or something underneath carpet that crinkles whenever I step on it. The vinyl flooring was sloppily cut, leaving visible gaps along several edges.

Contractor was nice enough and tried to appease our complaints - but his response amounted to excuses and he didn't actually make good on anything.
