Empire Today Carpet Advertised 50% carpet,installation and padding, for 58 yds he quoted me $5,000 so I guess full price is $10,000, Los Angeles area/Baldwin Park, CA 91706 California

 Empire Today Carpet came out, I told them ahead of time what I was looking for to save time. He came rushing in here and tryed to fast sell me.  He didn't bring what I had asked for.  He reluctantly went to his truck and brought me printed, patterened carpet that I asked for, it wasn't what I was looking for and seemed like inferior carpet.

They have an advertisement on TV that offers 50% off, carpet or flooring, 50% off installation and 50% off padding.  He measured my house and  and he said "Oh I guess you wanted me to just measure for you"  I told him I didn't "need" him to measure for me that we could do that ourselves and that he didn't have the product I wanted. 

As he was walking out the door, he gave me averbal  "price"  for the product I didn't want (not estimated) of $5.,000 so I guess the full price would be $10,000, for only 58 square yards of carpet.  He also gave me the measured floor plan. I was unhappy with his agressiveness and inferior products.

I had a similar issue as you did

 Toni Bradley was the Sales Contractor that was sent to my Home on Thursday 6/12/2016.  I was not at home, so my wife allowed her entrance to our home, and she proceeded to measure each of the 4 rooms, and came up with an estimate of 1039 square feet of tile.

My wife was shown the samples of the tile that were entitled to the 50% off.  She choose the "terricota" tile, and Toni Bradley quoted her a price of almost 11,000 Regular Price , with a 950.00 discount, for a total amount of somewhere over 9000.00. 

I called my wife to ask about the bid, and when she told me it would cost 9000.00 I almost died.  I said what happened to the 50pct off price?  My wife said that Toni Bradley told her that the tile was originally priced at 22,000 (including labor, tile, and tile materials). 

I was dumbfounded.  I proceeded to go on line to Home-Depot, and plugged in the room dimensions , and was quoted a price of 8500.00.  This price also included removing the old carpet, AND hauling it all away. 

Toni Bradley had put her phone number on the "Savings" Document she had left with my wife, So I called her at the number of 713 906 0607, and discussed the quote with her.

I wanted to know the break down of the quote, How much for the Tile, How much for the Tile Material, and how much for the Installation, and she said she did not have those numbers with her.  I then proceeded to ask her if this 9000.00 figure was 1/2 off?  She said "Yes", so I said you are telling me without the 50pct discount, I would have paid 22,000.00?  She said Yes. 

I went on to ask Toni Bradley why they were so much more than Home Depot, and her response was "We have a very good Warrenty".   She went on to add, "Call Empire Today and tell them about the bid descrepancy, and Empire Today would probably match the price".  I told her I would not be doing business with Empire Today because their pricing practices were not ethical.

About 1 hour later I received a text message from Toni Bradley at her number of 713 0006 0607, telling me the following "Dont Ever Call me at this number again  Coward".  I sent her a text back telling her I was going to foward this text to Empire Today and I was going to see to  it she lost her job.

About 1 hour after that text I received another text.  This one said "Send this one too.  Or a pig.  Ur house is filthy.  Text me one more time and I'll File harrassment charges".

I notified Empire Today about this matter, and I was given a complaint ticket by someone there, (On 6/12/2014), and Iwas told someone would call me.  This is now 6/16/2014, and I have received no more phone calls from them.

I dont think Empire Today cares about the behavior of their employees, or sales reps, so I spoke with my Wallet, and I refuse to do any business with them at all.

I advise others to do the same.
