My salary never came close to what was promised based on quota. When reps would quit, most of the time they never got a last paycheck. Encore did not follow specific guidelines that were given by SBC. Errors on paycheck were sometimes never fixed. I think Encore owes me thousands of dollars for work that did go through, but was never paid on. Ive kept in contact with many businesses that said theyre work was installed.
The website is nothing close to the real thing. They have no way of accuratly tracking any order placed in CA for SBC business. The owner of the company craig staple, promised reps benefits in August of 2004, and instead, our salary was revoked, and we were all turned 1099. Encores turn over rate for employees was very high. (I wonder why) This is something Ive heard Project managers from SBC show concern from. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH ENCORE. Shut them down before they rip you off as an employee or customer. Craig Staple, is a liar and crook.

Not the Worst, But Close!

In my two months as Sales Director in Jackson, MS, there was never an accurate payroll issued. Most of the time, orders that were processed and confirmed by BellSouth mysteriously appeared on reps commission sheets as "declined". I had reps that turned in 6, 7, even 8 sales a day, consistently with expected commissions of $300-$400 and they wound up getting two week checks for $200-$300!
Rather than address the issue, the CEO and VP kept saying that they "emailed BellSouth" and were waiting for "confirmation". Horsepuckey! If they had the relationship with BellSouth they claimed, a simple phone call to BellSouth would have cleared the matter in minutes. I waited two weeks for confirmation of orders and never received them.
Pie in the sky promises? None bigger than Encore's! But delivering what they promised? Not even close. Their system of processing and paying isn't crooked, but it's not truly ethical, either.
Regrettably, this type of company does not look to attract high caliber, professional sales people. With their blind ads, inflated income potential, and focus on recruiting rather than retention, our office was filled with a never ending stream of "entry-level" sales people. With no way to check the applicants out, all sorts of equipment theft, obscene phone calls, death threats, and finally, a physical attack on my person occured.
The company's attitude was casual at best. Can they be sued for promoting conduct conducive to violence? Who knows.
I finally could not bring myself to interview anyone knowing what kind of aggravation they may have to suffer. So the revolving door that is Encore keeps going around and around like a perverse merry-go-round, but for this former employee, the ride is over and I am eternally grateful to be gone.

This is not a Customer Service Position. Encore has nothing to do with Customer Service for SBC or Bellsouth. When working for Encore Marketing, you are SELLING products to Businesses who already have SBC or trying to win the business back based on current SBC prices and promotions.
You will not make a "salary" or get paid hourly. Pay structure is based off of C.P.V or "Core Products" youve sold the customer. The Idea behind "20/hour" is calculated at selling 1 core product per hour.

When called, I was told very little information, instead given a interview time the very next day even though I clearly do not qualify under the requirements of the ad. I urge job seekers, especially the desperate ones, to beware of staffing agencies like Encore who offer "too good to be true" salaries in order to blind ones good judgement against fraud or misrepresentation.
