Good dealer, bad salesman.

I am a long time Mercedes Benz owner and have never had an experience as bad as I had with Endre Bacsa. At the end of day, life is too short to deal with dishonest people and Endre Bacsa is pathologically dihonest.  In reality, he will say and do anything to make a buck and that's not who I do business with. Clouded titles?  No problem.  Misleading (lies) statements?  Yes, he knows less about the product than most loyal Mercedes owners. Damage history?  He doesnt cosider hitting a pole and a pushed up the bumper to be damage history worth disclosing.

To put it bluntly, you'll feel like you need shower after dealing with Mr. Bacsa. Long story short, this saleman will say anything and do anything to sell you a car that he knows less about than his customers do.

I went into Sears Imported Autos as they have traditionally had a very good reputation and had advertised a used MB I wanted to look at.  I was "assigned" a salesman named Endre Bacsa.  Endre is a very cordial and friendly salesman as most are when you first meet them but as you get deeper into the deal, he changes rolls into this better than thow high pressure "joe" the salesman roll except with less knowledge about the product than "Joe" would have. 

I have owned MB my whole life and know the cars well.  I also know price points and generally speaking, what I should get for my money.  I'm a cash buyer and made a fair and reasonable offer on the vehicle.  Now most MB dealers give a lot of latitude to their sales profressionals to accept or counter an offer.  After all, this isn't a Kia we're buying here.  The sales executives usually know that they can do and don't want to wast a lot time running the back and forth sales game.  Not Endre.  Endre clearly wants to squeeze every cent from the deal and is perfectly comfortable playing "Joe" the salesman except with less product knowledge. Never mind the non-disclosure issues.

Endre knew much less about the car I was making an offer on that I did.  That does not however stop him from making false statements and claims in an attempt drive up the price or justify why he could not accept the offer. At that point, I simply asked his bottom line and he pointed to the asking price. I declined and asked to speak with a principal in the dealership.

Endre acted offended and walked off to the back office.  When he came back, he shrugged and offered a disingenuous counter to my original offer and had a sheet of paper with numbers crossed out and re-written and circled...you know the drill.

Long story short, I declined the offer and left the dealership.  Followed closely by Endre and finally an apologetic dealership principal who agreed to get close to my offer.  I spent another fifteen minutes reviewing the deal and found undisclosed damage history and that was the final straw.  I left without buying but did buy a MB through another dealer two weeks on.
