TicketmasterEntertainment Rewards Unauthorized charge from a purchase made in 2004 almost 2 years ago! causes overdraft; company can profit illegally by investing! Ripoff Troy Michigan

Nearly two years ago, I ordered concert tickets from Ticketmaster, using my parents' card (which they permitted since they were paying for it). Dubiously, the company had an item if selected allowed for savings when one bought tickets through them. As it turned out, it automatically signed the customer up for Entertainment Rewards program trial (instead of it being a savings that was aprt of the ticket purchase as had been implied). I readily cancelled the trial since it was not what I had wanted.

Now, my father just checked his bank acount online and saw a $7 charge from Entertainment Rewards (which put him in the hole by $2, unfortunately, thus causing an overdraft charge as well!).

My father called the company, and one of their representatives said that they had a change of computer systems which reactivated subscriptions for anyone who had ever purchased from Ticketmaster!

Since my father is in the financial business, he knows that they could very well make a huge profit off this 'error' within the four days that they have the money (since this is a federal holiday, refunds cannot be given so quickly).

For example, if one million people were affected @ $7 each, and if the company could make 10%, they will have illegitimately made aprofit of $700,000!

Something must be done, as it seems far more likely a scam than a mere error.
