This has been a good printer until I was forced to buy a new computer.  All current computers come with Windows 8, except the rare instance where a vendor will provide previous Microsoft Operating Systems.

The printer no longer works with current drivers loaded from the Epson Website specifically for a Windows 8, 64-bit operating system.  However Epson has had plenty of time since Windows 8 was released to provide working drivers.  My suspicion is that they would rather not in order to sell a new printer, which only needs working drivers compatible with Windows 8.

I've contacted Epson and their replies have nothing to do with the problems I explained in my support request.  Prior to printing I preview what is to print out.  Currently only about 1/3 of a 3 sheet letter size document contains text.  That means that instead of printing out 3 sheets it wants to print out over 6 sheet partially filled.  The correct paper size was selected and all other paramenters as well.  At one point I was able to print out a full sheet but there was aa chart on one of them and it would not print with text present.  When I had to redo the setup in order to get the chart to print also then the problem of having only part of the sheet filled with text came about.

This document is quite important and I've spent nearly a day with no success getting the printer to provide me with the document I'm scheduled to release tomorrow.

I'm sure many people have the same Epson printer they've used for years.  But to not provide working drivers in order to sell new printers I consider a RIPOFF.
