Over the past year Erie Insurance and the band of merry mmorons has exceeded my expectations of a poor customer service organization when it comes to insurance. Maybe one of the worst I have ever shad the displeasure of paying for insurance to.
Here is a list of failures that Erie indurance has been responsible for over the past year.
lost wedding ring claim was handled very slowly took weeks to get things straight. They also only insured what they felt was a replacement cost. Pretty standard in the industry but they never proved they could In fact get the identical ring (which was custom) from the designer for the cost they were going to pay out.
Second on this claim they filed it under "theft" which wasn't accurate and I only found out this info when I was shopping for a new carrier. Should have been coded mysterious disappearance. I reached out to them and they were rude and said I had my information wrong. Only after I proved it with a screen shot did they own the mistake. Kelly Mills, Mills insurance agency Newark, Oh
later that year while on my roof I noticed missing shingles and let Kelly Mills know. Being spring and all the rain I wanted to get it fixed ASAP. Kelly said he never got my emails? Which was strange that never happened before? Lazy!
i spoke to a head manager named Raymond "Ray" Cogan about switching to another Erie agent and he said that couldn't be done.... He referred me to the head guy at Mills Agency and that guy was a complete jerk! Just said maybe I should just get a new insurance company. Didn't want to make things right only wanted to not deal with it at all. I reached Ray Cogans and let him know it moved my policy to the call center. I afloat out refused to pay Mills Insurance Agency another dime!
as I shopped the policy I found a new carrier. I had life policies to move as well. I asked Ray Cogans about moving these or cashing them out he said I could do either but didn't give me the pros and cons of each. Funny that they took $145 fee and paid out $45 dollars after I had paid in nearly $1000 on 3 policies over the years. oh well it wasn't that easy I did the paper work the wanted signed etc. then 2 weeks later they drew another payment from my checking account and told me that the signatures didn't match the original. How funny... They have refused to give me that $ they debited even though I straightened out the signatures.
i filed a better business bureau complaint and worked with Bob Maxson, Robert Maxson Erie Insurance. Well didn't really work with him. He said we are taking zero action on this anthy hat is how it is. Trying to bully me into dropping this. I will not be bullied by Erie Insurance. I will not accept piss poor customer service for the hard earned money I pay for my premiums!
Bob Maxson is an arrogant piece of slime and never once addressed my complaint to the BBB in full! He has lied and simply took the stance that he isn't going to address the issue and I am to deal with that stance. Sorry but you just can't treat people like that.
