Eskanos & Adler, Consumer First Consultants, Inc. RIP THE F*&%K OFF Lakewood California

It is unfair how these people treat innocent college students. I had to learn the hard way and got a credit card from discover card. I stop making payments and was then on collections. Of course, I still couldn't make payments because I had no money, no job, and no help. Collection calls were still being made. I then was getting letters about being sued.

When I finally got sued by Eskano & Adler, complaining that I would owe $1900 along with about $350 in court fees, a letter came in the mail, shortly after, from Consumer First Consultants. They told me in the letter that they would reduce my settlement, along with not haing to pay the court/lawyer fees. I made an appointment to see them in October. After meeting with them, my stepdad decided to help me out and paid $1,100 for Consumer First Consultant fees. I thought it was a lot but he was a man and I'm only 22 so I let him do it, and went on my way. We signed papers and made Consumer First Consultant (CFC) give us copies of everything I signed. They also wrote down that I wouldn't have to pay interest when making my payments.

About two weeks letter, I received a call from CFC saying that I would only owe $1900 and would have to agree to pay $150 a month, with the first month payment of $300. I asked CFC to mail me a receipt showing how much I owe, when I would owe it, etc. CFC refused and claimed Eskano & Adler would do it. The only paper Eskanos & Adler gave each month was how much I owed and what the next payment would be. In fact, I didn't realize until three months down the line, that my payments weren't dropping at all. Since February, I gave them $900 and Eskanos & Adler is claiming I owe them $1500.

When I called CFC, because they told me not to call Eskanos & Adler, about the situation they claimed that I was paying interest. I told them that they told me I wasn't suppose to pay interest and I had the paper to prove it. The lady proceeded to tell me that it wasn't true. Being 22, and hearing her say words, too fast and too much, I gave up, hung up the phone and told my stepdad. When I informed my stepdad he was mad that he wasted $1100. Not only that but I received a letter from Eskano & Adler just two nights ago, claiming they want to sue me, saying that they're only acknowledging $750. I don't know what to do.
