I received a phone call today from etravelandtour.com reporting I had won a promotion for a trip to Florida. The packet included hotel accommodations, rental car with unlimited mileage (I had to have my credit car the day of travel). The trip included 4 days, 3 nights in Orlando with two free Star Passes. Also included was 4 days, 3 nights in Daytona, added to this was a free vacation to Key West for 3 days 2 nights which could be taken at another time. Now you say what's wrong with this deal, it sounds like it might be legitimate. However, the young lady that began the conversation was pleasant and appeared sure of what she was talking about. I was told this was a $2,900.00 trip and I was getting it for $398.00 for four people.
I was told I would have to do a 90 minute tour while on this trip. I asked when the money was due I was told today and it would go on my credit card. I politely told the young lady I could not do that today because that amount was not there, she said she could run the card and if it was not there other arrangements could be made. Now my antenna has gone up, she asked me to hold. Another voice is now on the phone, first friendly, however very loud.
I asked Tyrone why he was yelling. He told me it was to get me to understand the saving he was giving me on this trip. He kept insisting that I give him the expiration of my card, I told him the same thing I told Katie, the money was not there. Due to his rudeness I told him I no longer wanted this packet. I was asked why and I told him I did not like the tone of his voice nor did I appreciate him yelling at me. He tried to make a joke of the situation and reported people have told him he could go into television or radio because he talked so loud. I still refused to give him the expiration date.
Then the tables turned, I was told I was lying about not having the money on the card (he told if he ran the card the money would be there and this would prove I was lying), I was told I never liked the packet. He kept insisting he was helping and basically I was not grateful. He tried using a scenario of a homeless person and giving me a bowl of soup! He asked again why I did not want him to run my card; again I told I did not like the tone of his voice or the way he was talking to me. Then the tables turned! He accursed me of making fun of him and the way he talked. He told me God made him this way and that I must be an atheist or something. This was very offensive. He continued to rattle on about me being an atheist and those in the room with him were now laughing at his comments. He told me I should be honest. I explained to him I had been honest from the beginning but he refused to accept what he was told.
I asked him what type of training he received because I have dealt with other travel companies and no one has ever been this rude to me. I asked for a 1-800 number, he asked me why and told I could not call anyone else concerning this deal. I explained that I wanted the number to make a complaint.
I was told I wasted 25 minutes of his time and that some people had to work for a living and that I was probably sitting a home doing nothing. I explained to him he called my work number! He told me he was the manager of the complaint's department; he tried to change his voice, but everything was a joke to him! He tried to asked if Katie was the problem, I told him no that it was him and the way he talks to the customers. He then went into saying I called him a liar and that I flip flopped in what I was saying. I basically told him what he was saying was not of God. I told him if he ran my card he would be sued.
I was told he could not be sued, they are Disneyland! He then asked me to hold on and a David was now on the phone, however I did not say anything and he hung up the phone. I feel sorry for etourandtravel.com if they are legitimate agency, it is people like Tyrone who discourage and cause mistrust in an agency.
