A few days prior to Feb. 12, 2008 I responded to a tv commercial for a small hand-held steam cleaner. I cannot remember the exact amount I was quoted but it was in the neighborhood of $60.00 On Feb. 12 my bank account was charged $190.22.

I had no contact number for them other than a toll free telephone number which was never answered. However, a friend told me to contact the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and they supplied me with the contact information. They are listed under IHA - International Housewares Association.

I called their number on February 22nd and spoke with "Stojan Dragovich". I told him I wanted my money returned, especially since it was 3 times the amount I was quoted and because I I discovered their product had been recalled due to serious burns from missing "O" rings.

I was told the product had been shipped on Feb. 18 and after I received it I was to call him for information concerning returning the item to receive a refund.

On Feb. 25 the package arrived and had been shipped from the "National Product Reconditioning Company" in Memphis, Tennesee. I refused to accept delivery. I contacted Euroflex and they never responded.

I would like my money returned!

How to resolve problems with rip-off companies!

AUTHOR: Liliane - (United States of America)

I am 65, female and have been in the business world for many years until I retired 6 years ago.

90% of banks have a department that when you are not given services that you were promised or a product that is not up to par....or you cannot reach the company by reasonable actions, you can put your charge into dispute.   The bank will send you a form to fill out which you will sign and report the problem and they will then intervene and if they cannot reach a positive conclusion to your problem they will credit back your money to you and then reverse that payment to the company that ripped you off.

They put your money back immediately into your account while they sort out the problem.

If however they find out that you have exaggerated or lied, they will charge that money again.

I used to get so frustrated and hired a lawyer one time, which cost me an arm and a leg, but I found the only honest lawyer in town and he was the one that told me about the banks ability to take this on for you.

The banks charge really high rates for our credit cards and accounts and I guess this is their way of trying to keep our business

If you need any more information on this feel free to post back to me on this site and I will attempt to clarify, however your first call should be to your banks credit/debit card department to establish that you want the payment put on hold and have them send you the form I spoke about previously.

So long as you are honest with them, they will be there for you.

Hope this helps...Happy Holidays!!!!!

This is a copy of the email I sent to this company on March 24. I am 77 years old and cannot enlist people for a picket line as you recommended in your booklet. The subject I referred to is Stojan Dragovich. My only income is Social Security and I cannot afford to lose this money. What other alternatives do I really have if you cannot help me?

February 12, 2008 my checking account was charged $190.22 for a steam cleaner and related accessories.
February 21, 2008 I called your New York, NY telephone (212) 825-1189 and spoke with the above named subject. I told him I had just learned the cleaners had previously been recalled because of a missing "O" ring and caused serious burns. I told subject that since I had never received the item I wanted to cancel the order and I wanted my money returned. The subject told me when the cleaner was delivered I should accept it and contact him for directions on returning the item.
February 25, 2008 item arrived and the sender was National Product Reconditioning Co. I refused to accept the cleaner and it was returned to sender.
March 4, 2008 I sent an e-mail to the subject inquiring why Euroflex had not contacted me concerning their receipt of the shipment. with information relating to my refund. As of this date - March 24 - I have heard nothing from the subject or any representative of this company . If I do not receive a response concerning my refund by March 28th I will take further action.
