I decided to continue my education with Everest University because I had already graduated from Everest College Online in Oct. 2010. I decided to go for my Bachelor's in Paralegal but was told that I would be enrolled at EU because they merged with ECO. I thought okay. I guess that would be fine. Becase I'm not much of a procrastinator, I finished all the paperwork I needed to complete early as I did with Everest College where I was previously enrolled. OMG! It's been hell ever since. First I went over my financial aid paperwork with the first finanacial aid rep (Allison Ochrym) who told me my credit that I requested to come to me would be, I believe when I looked at it was in the some of some $3400 and some change. She said I would get this at the end of Feb. Keep in mind that all of my paper work was completed in December. The first week in December. Classes were to start Jan. 18th of this year. All of a sudden no check at the end of Feb. I started getting worried after I gave it another week. I started calling my NEW financial aid advisor (Christopher Amos) I have been getting excuse after excuse. First it was we didn't get your official traanscrips from Everest. Then it was he was only seeing that I was only due $435. Then it was oh, the reason the funds are not availiable is b/c you checked the box for us to hold it til the end of the loan period in Oct. (Not! I double checked to make sure the credit was sent to me after the school was paid. Then I was told to go in and change it for the credit to come to me. I'm like WHY? I've already done all of this. Low and behold I went in and NOTHING was checked. HUUUUMMMMMMMM!Then it was, I need you to fill out the paper work so I can release the funds to show the bubble up grade. Then it was like, I have everything now and the school was paid and you should be getting a stipend check soon, give it 14 days. Then after it was not received which should have been last week I emailed him again, it took him a few days to email me back. Now this is the last response I received from him: Good morning Natasha,
Here is a copy of your ledger card that shows a breakdown of your tuition, loans and grants. You can see the stipend issued on 3/3.
As of now, I do not have any funding posted to your account for the current term. My director is aware of the situation and he is working diligently to resolve this. I will let you know when the funding posts and get a stipend check cut ASAP!
Thanks for your patience.
It's one excuse after another. I tried to contact my student services coordinator (Angela Macias) who still hasn't contacted me I sent her an email asking for steps to go through to drop my classes. I also emailed the Director of Admission with the issues I've been encountering (Lori Oberhelman) Who has yet to contact me. I didn't have any of these issues with Everest College. They were ALWAYS there to help or answer questions via email or phone. I need to really stop while I'm ahead. I would have liked to finish my classes because I really enjoy them but I'm not going to strain myself financially either. Times are hard and the credit I am entitled to, I should receive. I work hard in my classes and get great grades. Its not fair that I have to repay something for nothing. Any and all suggestions would be appreciated. This wasn't even half of what I've been through with this University but it's a start to inform others.
