Shame on me for not doing the necessary due diligence when dealing with this company. Had I done a very quick search of reviews I would've found dozens upon dozens of dissatisfied and utterly angry past clients.  It is almost mind boggling to now read the reviews as each one nearly describes the same despicable service they had received and how the company responds so defensively  to the slightest questioning of the validity of the lists they sell.

I spent $700 on both a mailing list and e-mail list of CDL license holders. We sell the much sought after and hottest product on the market today for truck drivers; this being a road camera.  Daily we sell in excess of 20 units from our website. These sales are from truck drivers searching this product.

The e-mail list produced over 40% undeliverable.  I also got feedback from a dozen or more indicating they not only did not have such a license but also did not ever own a truck.

The mailing list has resulted in hundreds of returns stamped by the P.O. as undeliverable.  This after Exact Data had constantly insisted their lists are "scrubbed" and are accurate.   My staff then looked up phone numbers and over 40 told us they also did not know what a CDL license was nor did they own a truck.

Over the years my company has sent out over 3 million direct marketed mail pieces.  Accordingly I fully understand responses can be as low as 1/10 - 4/10ths of 1%.   At a considerable expense in the thousands we mailed to 10,000 "supposed" CDL license holders from the list provided to us.   We have tallied 0 sales, and 0 replies or inquires.  This is simply not possible. At a bare minimum of 1/10th of 1% we should have gotten at least 10 inquires.  We got zero.

At this point my inquiries and communication emulates exactly what every other review has stated.  My sales person immediately transferred me to a Tamiya Goggins, client support coordinator.  Tamiya's very first comment was to mention I got what I had requested and they cannot guarantee results.  I responded that I had specifically asked for CDL license holders to which she then referred me to the contract that had listed "truck drivers".  Again shame on me for not noticing the fine print.  As it turns out this specific information is not available.  Four other list companies have now confirmed this with me as well as the state RMV and the State Dept of trans...

Exact Data knew this also.... I then told them my e-mail undeliverable was in excess of 40% to which they had no answer.  I have since read that many past clients have reported an undeliverable rate as high as 80%.

When I expressed my discontent with their service they immediately refused to return phone calls or e-mails.  My next step was to contact Ryan Kluck, V.P. of Sales.  His response was he didn't like the way I was treating him or his staff.  I have since realized this is their standard M.O.  It seems it is inevitable a client will express dissatisfaction and after countless complaints they're only response or reaction is to go on the defense.

As previously stated, shame on me for not doing my own research on reviews. Following my very unpleasant experience I then found dozens upon dozens of complaints.... it appears they became so numerous that they changed their name from Consumer Base to Exact Data.  Search in Google using: "Exact Data Ripp Off Report", there you will find an almost endless list of cached links to individual reports from their "victims".  They also have a D rating with the Better Business Bureau.  It doesn't get any worse than that.

If you've taken the time to read my review then I would highly suggest you do not become another one of their sad victims. This company redefines the word "rip off"
