I can't believe I got sucked in again! The first time I interviewed, I didn't look into the company, and this time I didn't have time to research them. However, they are now going by a new name, and the building they are 'operating' in says 'Labor Systems' on the outside. I 'confirmed' the name when I called in, which is how I found out who they really are. The gal 'Monce' was stupid enough to tell me.

The following is the Craigslist ad I responded to:

****WILL TRAIN***** (TEMPE) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: 2010-08-30, 7:59AM MST Reply to: job-zv9u5-1926993598@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?] -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Marketing Management Company is expanding in the Valley and has openings in management and general office staff positions. Looking for hard working, team oriented individuals for career spots. No experience necessary. Call to schedule a personal interview 480-820-2101

So I showed up 30 minutes early to my interview (on accident). I was told that they weren't too busy and would be able to get me in early, and that I wouldn't be long. Building seemed pretty empty, but I thought maybe they just moved in, as the building had a different name on it. Parking lot was virtually empty. Mine was the 3rd or 4th vehicle.

So I get put into this room to fill out my 'information', instead of being able to do it in the lobby, but I've been through that before. Music playing and a magazine rack. Am told that someone will be with me shortly.

Then the gal I spoke to on the phone 'Monce' came in to get my information paper. Was kind of rude. Told me someone would be with me in a moment. A few minutes later, a guy came in to get me. Took me to an office that had NOTHING but a glass desk. Made small talk. Got the whole "this is just a preliminary, blah, blah, blah". Asked me a few questions to seem legitimate. Said the 2nd interview is where they would review all the job specifics.

Told me they were setting up warehouses all around the area, and just needed to get their 'management team' together. Thought it was strange that they were setting up warehouses, but I would only be managing teams of 8-10 people. Hmm....

I doubt I'll even be called back. I have extensive experience and am probably viewed as being 'not easily scammed'. He did say they were in the 'perfume wholesale' industry. This started ringing bells from my last run-in with them. Now that I think about it, I may have interviewed with the same guy!

As I was leaving, I saw the rude gal in her office 'working', and in the room next to her was a few shelves of perfume. The door was just a little ajar, but it wasn't when I came by the first time. I thought it was strange that if this was their 'corporate' office, that the perfume would be sold there.

They did tell me that the 2nd interview would be 2 hours, and they guy acted really excited about my experience. The whole thing was just weird.

Since I didn't have time to research it before I went, I did when I got home, and was scared to realized that their 'new' name wasn't on here. This is where I found the information last time, so I wanted to warn anyone else that is looking for 'employment'. Thinking about posting a warning on Craigslist too.

This is exactly what happened to me. It felt shady from the moment I walked in the door. There were a couple people standing around, doing nothing. No computers or phones in any office. I even peeked in the kitchen and saw nothing. Every office I passed only had a desk and a few chairs.

The first interview was less than 5 mins, in which they asked nothing about me. The person interviewing me, said he was going to skip the call back process and asked if I could just come back the next day. I agreed. When I walked out, I found it odd that the people standing up front said, see you tomorrow. How did they know the interviewer skipped a few steps and asked me to come back the next day for a second interview?

I went back for the 2nd interview yesterday.  There were only 2 cars in the parking lot. Neil said they were, "short staffed" that day. The other individuals in the room with me looked unprofessional and very young to be in a management position. After the 2 hour nonsense, I was hired. As Neil was telling me this, I cut him off and declined and walked out. Thank God.

This is indeed a scam.
