In company with others here who have dealt with and suffered from this company I would like to add my own experiences.
Over a period of some years I've had the misfortune to deal with Exoto on a number of occasions to purchase their model car products. On every single one of those occasions the product has been faulty and the service and delivery times have been apalling.
They ask very high prices for their products and claim they are the best available in the market. This is simply not true. The models COULD be the best available but the QC is so bad that you will never receive one that doesn't have at least one defect. Then when an attempt is made to resolve the problem you are met with a total reluctance to even acknowledge there is a problem.
In fact, you are made to feel that it is your fault in some way! On the occasions they do accept a faulty model for return the only method they will use is to claim on the delivery company for damage! This is even when the model is FAULTY, not damaged! They will never accept a model is faulty due to negligence on their part. So they are even ripping the delivery company off!
Delivery times are another issue. When they state a model is ready to ship, it never is. That is just to get the customer to place an order and take their money. In reality it could be as much as a year before they ship, and all the time they have your money! Other friends of mine have had the same problems, some parted with money literally years ago and the models are still not ready to ship! Exoto will never issue refunds though!
You could ask why I and others have continued to deal with them, well as I mentioned, the models do have the potential to be the best available in their market sector so we have lived in vain hope that the next one will be ok or Exoto will become good. Well I for one have realised that this will never happen, so will never make any more purchases from them.
Basically, Exoto's business ethics are the worst I've ever encountered. They do business to suit themselves and have no concern for their customers interests at all.
Exoto should be investigated by the US good business organisation, they need to be stopped from treating customers the way they do and for potentially fraudulant business practice. My advice is to stay away from Exoto.
