Well, Experian started phasing in a policy last year that is almost fully implemented.

According to the Experian website, Experian no longer accepts mailed disputes! This is a discriminatory practice against those who do not have internet access, AND the agreement you must accept to do the online dispute has provisions that are in violation of your rights under the FCRA, and even the FDCPA.

The main one being the ability to send your dispute by certified means and have proof of service as per your right to have the information proven valid or removed in 30 days as provided for under the FCRA.

The second thing they have initiated is no more telephone disputes! This has already been identified on affiliate and partner sites, such as identityguard.com, and others.

Experian is trying to make it as hard as possible to dispute anything. And when you do it online, you do not get any proof of what you disputed or that they even got it at the time you make the dispute online.

You will get results a few weeks or months down the road, if they feel like responding to you.

We need to file as many FTC complaints as we can on this one, and letters to Experian Corporate.

Ben,

First of all, why are you reviving a report that is more than 2 years old, with no other rebutals? Unless you work for identityguard? Why were you searching Identityguard posts? Just curious.

Second, Identityguard was used soley as a reference for the source of information. That in no way is derogatory towards IdentityGuard.Com. I use the IdentityGuard service to this day, and have no complaints.

The title you are reading on my post was modified by moderators as is common. Identityguard has to abide by the major credit burea rules. You cannot file a dispute from within IdentityGuard. That is a problem as I see it, but not their fault.

Actually they are "associated". Learn the true meaning of associated, even if you have to look it up in the dictionary. vendor and a customer are "associates".

What IdentityGuard.com has to do with this?
I don't understand what Identityguard.com has to do with all this. The report's author complains about Experian's practices but for some reason decided to include Identityguard.com in the title of the report without even mentioning the latter company in the report itself. Identityguard.com is not associated with Experian. These are two completely separate businesses.
