Two college age door-to-door sales people showed up at my front door, a boy and a girl. The girl went by Tiffany Jeffrey. I did not catch the name of the boy. They told me they were selling books for a local children's hospital. In addition, they said it was a competition at their local college. And that they needed to collect a certain amount of points in order to win a prize. I decided to help so I gave them $55 in cash. They wrote a receipt. They were very good and convincing at first. Tiffany even told me that she had lived up the street from my house. I only started to notice something fishy after they left. On the receipt, the name of the children's hospital was misspellt and the address was not completed. Before she had left, I asked for her phone number since there wasn't one on the receipt. She gave me the number (602) 799 - 1575. I called the number after the whole scenario felt fishy. It turns out that she gave me her grandma's number. Her grandma told me that her granddaughter Tiffany was up to no good. She told me she was a conn artist. She isn't a great con artist though... because her name really is Tiffany Jeffrey and she really did give me her grandma's number. Lol! I took a picture of the receipt I received. I will attach it to this report.
