at its best!

On February 12, 2003, I succumbed to local advertising and stopped into a local Eyeglass World Express to have my eyes examined and order 2 pair of glasses.

Advertising claimed free exam with order, and that with one pair of glasses, another came free. After exam, I picked out 2 frames.

Since I am both far and near sighted, I ordered "No Line" gradient lenses on both pairs with "Transitions" (self darkening) lenses on one pair.

We sat down to talk money. At first I am asked to pay $687.00! I balked...big time...picked up my purse and asked for my prescription. She said "Wait!" and took $107. off the price.

I said that wasn't good enough.

She then said she would give me a "Manager's Discount". She subtracted another $232. giving me a grand total of $348.

I said, "Fine...go ahead.

February 19: Came to pick them up. Wrong one was done in Transisions, but worse than that, both were incorrectly ground.

The reading portions at the bottom of the lenses were too close together. I told them that I was neither cross-eyed nor were my eyes set that close together. With an audible sigh, the young lady marked my focal points on the lens and said they would be re-ground the next day.

February 21: Came in three days later to find that they were still not correctly ground. I called for the Manager, who told me they would have to use a different lens, and that both pairs would be done in Transitions.

February 29: Called - Not Done!

March 6: Called - Asst. Manager said she would have to call Florida to see when lenses were sent. Said she would call me back. She did, in fact call me later that day to tell me they were in! Went straight there after work, only to be disappointed yet again...bottom correction was still too close together! Now she tells me they have to be sent away!

It is now March 10th. I still have no glasses and am minus $348.00!
