FAFCO Faulty Products, Poor Customer Service, Dishonored Warranty, No Response, Internet

FAFCO is a disreputable manufacturer of solar hot water systems.  They offer a 10 year warranty on their Sungrabber solar hot water heater system "panels" but only a 1 year warranty on all other parts.  Their system of dealers in Florida is very poorly trained as not one of the four I contacted gave me the same answer to address a leak in the FAFCO system.  Additionally, 3 of the 4 could not find a replacement part within a week, with all claiming FAFCO was not responding to them (and I do believe that given the poor customer service I received when I was able to get a rep on the phone). 

FAFCO ultimately refused to deal with me, the customer, claiming I had to deal with the installer (out of business) or a current dealer.  They refused to allow me to speak with an engineer at their company (they probably don't have one!)  The dealer who finally helped me lamented how FAFCO does not provide good customer support and that parts are difficult to secure ... despite the 10 year warranty they use to trick customers into thinking the company has quality products.  Stay away from this poorly run company with worse customer support.
