Firstly, I'd like to say that "Barb" that posted that rebuttal to Stacey's message is probably not a consumer at all but just a rebuttal placed there by Family Credit Counseling, in pathetical hope of damage control.

Secondly, My friend works for Family Credit Counseling and allegedly the reason the "hurricane" was so devastating to their business was because they did not backup their info. The most recent backups they had were actually from May and the hurricane hit in October! There is no excuse for a company this size that handles thousands of client's financial affairs should not have a current backup, especially when they knew the hurricane was hitting. This is pathetic is it not?? LOL.

Thirdly, they seem to be terminating mostor all of their senior employees and those that have worked for the company longest. This makes my friend feel like bankruptcy must be impending and this is in hopes to avoid having to pay severence pacakges.

Fourthly, the company's attorney or executive Director is no longer with the company. He must have left for a reason.

Fifthly, the condition of the accounting office at this company is very bad. For start, almost for the entire time they had no actual accountant. Not even someone with an accounting management degree. This is a degree that qualifies someone to manage an accounting office without having to be an actual CPA.

The general concensus among "management currently there" is, its just a matter of time before the IRS, FTC, and probably FBI kick down there doors and drag out the CEO in cuffs.

Send a Rebuttal if you would like further information from my "Friend." LOL. The disgruntled employee. LOL

#1 UPDATE EX-employee responds

Robin and Barb are 100% correct!

AUTHOR: Frank - (U.S.A.)

Now FCCC has resorted to corporate lawyers to dispel the true rumors about the status of the organization. It's funny how Mr. Kuskey had to make a point of pointing out practically the only typo or mispelling in the post, but imagine how much room it would take to quote and point out all the improper uses of the English language the CEO HIMSELF used in another post defending his company (its the one about the 3 sided story that turned into a 2 sided story at the end...)? Would you think a "solid disaster plan" would involve making sure you have a recent database backup? It was not like Florida was not warned there was a bad hurricane coming! Not to mention, the last backup was in MAY!!!! Wilma hit at the tail end of hurricane season, so this means FCCC experienced other hurricanes (including Katrina) prior to this and nobody important enough thought to check on the back up. It is true that almost all long time employees were terminated and lots of others up and quit when they saw the reality of the situation. It is now how long after Wilma and things still are not running smoothly? Maybe time would be better spent making things right for the clients rather than hiring a bunch of temps who all have to be trained from scratch over and over as more and more are hired and more and more leave? Quite a few "new hires" have walked out by lunch time after fielding some of these calls. Prior to the storm, nearly all of the employees were certified credit counselors. Now, probably less than 10 of them are. Read through the posts on this company and you will see the mindset of the people now in charge of your financial affairs. Most of the staff were not confident enough to stay and either quit or waited to get fired. Clients should not be confident either....pursue any recourse you can, you deserve it!

Dear FCCC Corporate Counsel CC: Consumers

AUTHOR: Robin - (U.S.A.)

In response to David Huskey's rebuttal...David Huskey is the counsel for FCCC and his office is the registered agent for FCCC...or was, maybe they will wakeup and sever their ties as well :)....PLEASE READ, PLEASE READ

1) David, Obviously its your job to claim that FCCC did not have anyone pretend to be a consumer and post pro-FCCC comments on this site. Your office is their registered agent, however....so much for non-partisan/unbiased credibility :) Also, I know the CEO of FCCC and he's famous for transparent hoaxes such as the PATHETIC one aforementioned.

2) Secondly, stop fibbing. Hurricane Wilma DID NOT cause significant or any damage whatsoever to FCCC's main server...to say that it did is an outright lie. However, David, Im not attacking you or your firm personally I understand that you are only trying to defend your client/cash cow and anyone in your position would do the same...after all he signs your checks.... albeit not in a timely manner.

Furthermore, FCCC did not have a disaster plan at all. And if the persons responsible for not backing up the data are no longer employed at FCCC rest assured that either their departure was voluntary or the reason for dismissal had nothing to do with their failure to backup dataK.evidenced by the fact it occurred much later.

It is very evident that your employer is spinning his wheels and exhausting all avenues to secure the future of his cash cowK. But its laughable for you to assert that his means of achieving this is establishing a call center in Charlotte. CHARLOTTE, NC IS WHERE HIS SALES OFFICE IS ALREADY LOCATED AND HAS BEEN FOR YEARSK. CONSUMER DEBT MANAGEMENT AND EDUCATION! He may very well have some of his sales agents handle customer service calls until this huge issue blows overK.of course he may exercise this optionK.because without the heartless consumer vultureK.FCCCKthere is no need for CDME. Please do not try to paint your employer as someone that cares because unfortunately, anyone that has been in contact with FCCC throughout this crisis can vouch that the only people that probably care about them are some of the credit counselors at the bottom of the totem pole. FCCC could have advised these people to pay their creditors directly until they regained accounting viabilityKbut instead they chose to continue debiting accounts in order to receive fairshare, contribution fees, and ostensiblyK.float the money that should be secured in the trust account.

3) Yeah Whatever

4) FCCCs former in-house counsel left for personal reasonsK..yeah right. He jumped ship and took a big hunk of CDS clients with him. Serves FCCC right

5) At this point, FCCC does have a CPA on staff. But this is as of recent. Prior to that FCCC only had a CPA to handle the TAX issues not the day to day operations of the accounting department.

6. This is another fibKyou are well aware of the class actions suits in progressKfurthermore the following excerpt comes directly from FCCCs websiteK

Maryland
The Commissioner of Financial Regulation for the State of Maryland will accept any questions and complaints from Maryland residents regarding Family Credit Counseling Corporation (license # pending) at 500 N. Calvert Street, Room 402, Baltimore, MD 21202 Phone 1-888-784-0136.

The information that I have provided to unsuspecting and suspecting consumers is accurate to the best of my knowledge. I am currently in close contact with FCCCs current management, employees and ex-employees. The information I have posted on this site is in no way intended as libel against FCCC, its registered agent, employees or its CEO, but the information has been provided in hopes of assisting consumers make fully informed decisions with regards to debt management relief.

Don't Believe Everything You Hear

AUTHOR: David - (U.S.A.)

The undersigned serves as corporate counsel to Family Credit Counseling ("FCCC"). On behalf of FCCC, I am responding to the February 4, 2006 "Consumer Comment" posted by "Robin". I will address the points raised by "Robin" in their order of appearance.

1. FCCC does not employ anyone named "Barb", nor did anyone from FCCC "place a rebuttal...in pathetical (sic) hope of damage control."

2. Hurricane Wilma caused significant damage to FCCC's main server and database. Although FCCC has a solid disaster plan, the plan was not properly implemented by the responsible parties. Suffice to say that the responsible parties are no longer employed by FCCC. Although this was an unfortunate combination of circumstances, FCCC is firmly committed to properly servicing their clients' credit counseling needs. To that end, the company has Customer Service Representatives on the phones from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. daily. In addition to the company's efforts in the Lauderdale Lakes home office, it is in the process of establishing a call center in its Charlotte, North Carolina office. This call center should be operational within 30 days and will be receiving calls for 16 hours daily. FCCC has also established a priority unit to receive and process escalated inquiries. Customers may call this "retention unit" @ 866-464-0112.

3. Although FCCC is undergoing some changes in its management structure, including the departure of some of its longest-tenured employees, it has not filed for bankruptcy, nor is bankruptcy "impending."

4. FCCC's former in-house counsel left the company for personal reasons wholly unrelated to FCCC.

5. FCCC retains an on-site, fully licensed Certified Public Accountant to oversee the day-to-day activities of its accounting staff.

6. FCCC is unaware of any pending investigations, formal or otherwise, by the IRS, FTC, FBI or any other governmental agency.

In summary, the most accurate portion of Robin's "Consumer Comment" appears to be her Disclaimer in which acknowledged that all of her information came from a third party and she was "unable to prove it one way or the other."

Respectfully submitted,

McGee & Huskey, P.A.

AUTHOR: Lindsay - (U.S.A.)

OMG. I have been completely scammed and ripped off by FCCC and i am sitting here furious right now. I wrote a report here all ready but i was going through just to see if i could find out any new info. I am blown away by everything that is going on and i can not see how this company can possibly survive the hundreds of complaints etc. being reported on them. I just sat down at my computer and prepared to write a letter to the attorney generals office of Florida. I reported them to the BBB already as well. i am really scared for my future because of this company. they have stolen over $1700.00 from me and i have been relentlessly hounding and threatening them and it doesn;t appear that i will ever see it again. I am not giving up however. thank you so much for your post and the info. I hope your friend finds a great new job. lindsay
