I drove my car and it seemed to run fine. On or about the 3rd of January (5 months) later my car began to shake and act funny making a loud ticking type noise which was very out of the ordinary for my type of vehicle. Im not a mechanic but I do know to look at the basics. My check engine light came on so I checked my fuel cap and the oil. My dip stick was dry and free of oil which was very odd because I had just gotten a oil change and was told my vehicle was topped off.
I had my car towed to a reputable Mechanic and was told my car threw a rod. I wanted to get a second opinion and had it towed to a 2nd reputable mechanic with over 22 years of expierence with high end vehicles who disassembled my vehicle to look into my problem further, he drew the same conclusion. I explained to him I had my oil changed by fire Stone and they said they put 5.9 qts of oil in to top off my vehicle so he went back into my car trying to see if I had a oil leak or a inner oil consumption problem. He said my vehicle and engine was free of any oil leaks or oil consumption problems and was impressed with just how clean my engine was. He also stated the may have put 2 or 3 qts in my vehicle which helped my car run for those past 5 months and for 4k miles but to burn out 5.9 qts of synthic oil in 5 months was highly unlikely.
I contacted Fire Stone to alert them of what was taking place with my vehicle they assured me that they put 5.9 qts of oil in my vehicle just like my receipt stated but I was free to file a claim so I did. A Inspector from Fire Stone came to my mechanics shop and examined my vehicle and also determined my vehicle had neither oil leaks or a oil consumption problem he asked me when was the last time I checked it after I had my oil changed and I let him know when I heard my vehicle making the noises and shaking because Ive never had a problem with it and I kept my maintenance up on it.
Fire stone contacted me and read the inspectors report to me extremely fast and stated their inspector found no leaks or burning oil sutt around my pipes but that they must have topped it off because I drove it 4k miles as if that was logic. Logic and the professionals including their own says I would have and should have been able to drive 10k miles if 5.9qts of oil was put into my car.
Obviously Fire Stone is not able to see everything their techs are doing when they are servicing vehicles and it is very disturbing to have a great running car one day and then the next its totally inoperable and they would not even speak on the fact that they couldnt explain wher all the oil went to that their Tech said he put in my vehicle. It has been an exspensive lesson and I felt I could trust their company would do the right thing and take care of my car especially with my spouse being deployed but they pretty much blew me off and did not care. They stated "a car burns oil" and were sorry your upset! No one is saying nothing was put in my car but it in no way shape or form was 5.9qts put in and Im left to deal with the consequences by myself and I feel thats not caring for the customers who support thier business.
