On 10/4/05 I received a voicemail message to return a call regarding an outstanding debt collection. I spoke to a person named John Puckett who told me their client, Alyon Technology (a billing tracking service), had sent a collection notice to them about me. He said I owed $122.25 for a "Bill Me Later" charge for visiting an adult website dated 4/8/2003. He said they have been trying to track me down since 5/28/2004 and he wanted me to makes arrangements to settle for $75.00 by giving him a credit card over the phone. I denied ever visiting an adult website of this nature but he continued to want to settle before "an embarrassing report was on my credit report".
I continued to deny any wrongdoing and do not owe this company any money. He proceeded to tell me that if I did not settle this matter that they have offices in India and somewhere else and I will continue to receive these phone calls day and night. He then said I could make this all go away for the settlement of $75.00. He said I would have 24 hours to get back him otherwise he would be sending the issue "upstairs" and it would be submitted to the credit bureaus.
I felt like this was a scam and I began to ask him questions regarding the company and wanted to speak to his supervisor which he told me he does not have a supervisor and he reports to all three credit bureaus. I told him that was crazy and he proceed to explain something I could not understand and then we disconnected. After visiting the website www.rip-offreport.com, I found that this bogus company has been trying to extort and blackmail other people all over the country. I am concerned that they could try and put a bogus inquiry on my credit report and have made arrangements with all three credit bureaus to have potential fraud status placed on my social security number. I have filed a formal complaints with the Federal Trade Commission, Illinois and North Carolina Attorney General offices. In addition, I will be sending First Credit of America, via certified mail with a required signature, a Cease and Desist Letter.

I, too, had a run-in with said company. They started calling Jan. 2006 "collecting" for Charge Me Later, a company that I had never heard of. I tried to explain that this was not my debt, but the calls continued. In May, 2006; I went to the local police department and filed a financial crime report and faxed it to the company. The calls still came. Then i faxed the same information again in late Oct., 2006. The calls have stopped. I recomend that anyone dealing with this fraudulent company: keep on calling back, send certified mail, do whatever it takes. This company will eventually get the idea that they are wrong, no matter how aggrevating it is to the normal and reasonable person. GOOD LUCK!!!
