Freedom boat club will sell you on Convenience. The fact is there is no convenience. I paid for the membership and addition monthly fee to be a yacht member. However, after payment, I was told that in order to take a yacht (30 feet or larger) out, I would have to start with the 9 footer. So I did. It first started with the orientation of the smallest boat in the club which cost 50.00 USD + gas, and reservation. Reservation itself too 3 week, in order for me to get an orientation. Finally after the orientation, I was told that I had to get go to the US Coast Guard class, pay that, attend 2 days of 8 hour classes in order for me to take the 9 footer out. After the class, it too another 4 weeks to get the smallest boat and take it out. 2 months has pasted, and still no yacht to be had. Once again I asked for the 30 footer, and was told that I had to take the 9 footer out 3 times, for half a day each time before I can take the yacht out. So I did, made appointment it took a total of 6 weeks before I was able to complete the assignment due to lack of boats. Once again I ask for the Yacht. But, once again I was told there is yet another requirement, that I had to take an orientation on a dual engine boat 19 footer before I get yacht. Once again I had to pay 50.00 USD, + gas for the orientation which took 3 weeks to set up. Then again I am told that I have to take the dual engine out 3 times you see where I am going with this. So I did, 3 more time. 6 months has past, still no yacht. I was told that if I wanted a yacht, I had to drive 1 hour north to Fort Lauderdale and get the yacht. However, I have to take yet another orientation, pay in order to have access. So I did, paid, did the orientation. 8 months past, no yacht, the yacht is in service, it was sold out of the club, the owner took it back stop answering calls, e-mail only, we are only open for reservations between 9 to 11 am. If you call after that you will have to call back ect. Ect .ect. after 10 months, I gave up and just purchased a 31 footer for myself. Still I pay the monthly dues for an addition 6 months with no usage because there was no Yacht club boat and the only one they did have needed a captain which cost 150.00 dollars per hour. So I asked if I can put my wife in the club. This way she can use the smaller boats. 6 weeks, it took just to get the paper work, after filling out everything, form Coast guard training, to insurance, to marriage certificate, my wife was told that she could not fax it or e-mail it in, she had to drive all the way to Fort Lauderdale we got the message. They dont want us, they just want the money. it is a complete scam. 2nd they will sell you on selection ob boats. Good luck, http://freedomboatclub.com/locations/11-miami-fl/boats click on the link to the boats they have in Miami. The boats are in the worst possible condition. I suggest you look a the boats before signing up. and dont let them show you a boat that is not even in their fleet (which they did to me) they will tell you that, oh, we have a new..xxx coming in, we have a new XXX in the other club that we will bring down. These are all lies. Gone Fishin, is hardly ever aviable if it is working. I used it once in 12 months. M&M is the wrost ever, drity, torn up, you would not want to bring your family or friends on this. it is embressing. Seerenity, another boat in the same condition. There is only one boat over 30 feet, Daydreamer. That is exactly with it would be a dream, because I have never seen it, when I asked for anythign over 30 feet it is never aviable. Ever. Do not join this club, save your money buy your own boat. It si 100% not worth it. it is a complete scam. The only thing Freedom boat club is good at, is taking your money. When I asked to leave the club, I was told the are going to charge me 2 additional months, because that is on my contract.

Like one post says- go check out their boats and stop by to check out the operation- I bet no other club comes close in size or cleanliness.
Buy your own boat- I want to come see it after 6 months of you destroying it

FORT LAUDERDALE/MIAMI Freedom Boat Club WORST COMPANY EVER

It is quite ironic that when I read all these reviews about Freedom Boat Club, I feel that I have written them myself because everything stated in these reviews are ABSOLUTELY TRUE and I have personally experienced all of situations!! Stay away from this company. They are at minimum HORRIBLE. Not only is the company horrible as a whole, but as people as well. I have been threatened, taken advantage of, treated like DIRT. Everytime you take a boat out (if you get the chance to book one), your family and friends lives are at risk. I too have had boats sink due to their negligence. I can continue about all my HORRIBLE experiences. As the other user ZAK has mentioned, if you are in the state of Florida and experiencing problems, please contact the state Attorney General at MYFLORIDALEGAL.COM. Then file a claim at SAO17.STATE.FL.US and 800HELPFLA.COM.
