On August 12, 2009 a "college student" named Aaron S. (code 211) came to our door selling magazine subscriptions. He stated that he went to UMUC and was going around selling magazines and that they had divided up into two teams. The boys vs. the girls and who ever had had the most points (which are earned for every subscription sold) would win a trip.

So my husband and I ordered a year subscription to Jack and Jill for our son. We thought about canceling it  when the guy left becuase it ended up coming to $63. Which was more than we thought it would come to. But we figured it was for our son so we decided not to cancel it.

On December 10, 2009 I called (what I thought was the Dynasty Technologies Inc) to find out where the magazines were becasue we had not recieved our first copy yet. The lady that I talked to said that we sould be recieving it any day and that it had been mailed out the week before.

So I waited until December 21, 2009 to call and when I did I got an answering service that said they were closed for the holiday. So I called back on December 28, 2009 and I got the same answering service.

I called again today January 4, 2009 to find out where it was and to just cancel it and get a refund. When I got ahold of someone they told me that Jack and Jill had sent them an e-mail stating that they were updating their system and that the magazine would not be shipped out for another 4 to 6 weeks.

When I found this out I immediatly told the person on the phone that I just wanted a refund. She told me "look at the left side of your reciept", she then read the cancellation notice. When I told her that I understood the cancellation notice was only good if done within three days of the sale, but that I had also signed that it would take 120 days to get to me. And that since it was over the 120 days that I wanted a refund.

I finally got through to a "manager" named Erica. She was not helpful at all. She told me that she was just the processing department for Dynasty Technologies. She could not give me a number for them so that I could contact them for the refund. And then she simply hung up on me.

After I got off the phone I decided to research the company to try and get a contact number for them. All that kept coming up for a contact number for Dynasty Technologies Inc was this American Cash Rewards. Which turns out to be the 303 number that I had been calling.

My husband then called back and talked to Erica about getting a refund and she said she would have to contact the publisher and it would take at least a week to get a response. HE then asked to talk to someone higher then her and she told him that her manager was on vacation. He asked when she would be back and she told him that she did not know because she travels with the "crew". So he gave her his cell phone number so that the publisher could contact him personally.

Every time we have called and talked to someone it is very unprofessional and they are very rude, cutting you off, and hanging up on you.

I am trying to figure out how to get my money back. Not including the money I will be paying for the long distance calls I have made to them, the 10 minutes each time I called that I sat on hold waiting for a manager to take the call. I will contact the better business bureau and am also willing to go to small claims court if need be.

I am not giving up on getting my money back. My bank is also looking into it to see if they can help.
