I had purchased some music from FYI and the salesperson asked me if I'd like to receive a free trial for a magazine of my choice. I agreed to receive some free issues of People magazine after being reassured by the salesperson that I would be mailed a cancellation notice in the mail.
I never received the cancellation notice, but did have a debit on my account for the subscription I never cancelled.
I called the company listed on my bank statement, TWX, and after tolerating the world's worst automated telemarketer, finally had the subscription to People cancelled and the charge refunded.
Three months later, completely out of nowhere, this company started sending me US Weekly issues. I did not request this, nor signed any slip agreeing to this.
Within a week I had been charged yet again on my account for a magazine I did not request.
I called again, went round and round with a computerized nitwit who kept asking if I was sure I wanted to cancel my subscription, and finally had this 2nd mag cancelled.
At no time, I repeat, AT NO TIME did I ever receive a cancellation notice for either magazine as I was told by the salesperson I would.
This company needs investigating, and anybody who defends it is probably an employee.

First off, clearly you were explained that there would be a fee after 2 months if you did not cancel, otherwise you would have not known about this cancellation if someone was trying to be sneaky and not tell you about a fee.
Second, You had to have received a pamphlet about the magazines you were getting because FYE has NO other way of getting you signed up for them. The choices of the magazines were pictured in this pamphlet.
Third, upon receiving the pamphlet, it has written and clearly stated that if you do not cancel your magazines within the 2 month time period, the card you are using to make your purchase on THAT day will be charged X amount of dollars (which is also listed) depending on the magazines that you are choosing.
So in this situation it was just a matter of reading what you were buying. Why people don't read, I'm not sure. Also, the phone number to cancel your magazines was listed in the back of that pamphlet. Though it is NOT FYE who is sending you these magazines... It is TWX. It is not at the fault of FYE that you did not get a cancellation notice in the mail. We have no responsibility in sending out these notices. FYE was just trying to provide something cool and free to their customers. They can not be blamed for this matter.
Note: although you did not get a reminder notice about when to cancel your magazines, you had the information right in your hand in that pamphlet at the check out counter. Perhaps you threw it away, not caring and just waiting for someone else to remind you of a phone call you would have to make in a couple months. I surly hope this is not the case, if it were, I have sympathy.
