I, like many others had NO training, but was expected to perform like I did as an assistant manager. I was guaranteed more hours if someone quit. After one employee was accused of stealing...and quit, I received no more hours. Another employee was falsley accused of stealing and left.(they found the money 5 mins after she walked out) Still no more hours. Another employee walked out...no more hours. A 4th employee left after she found out that she was not going to get the vacation hours she was supposed to get....still no more hours. The manager there harrassed, belittled, and humiliated me in front of customers for not doing things the way HE wanted it done while he was on vacation, despite me not having ANY guidelines to follow. He then told me that he wished he only had female employees there, because no males would take the job seriously. (I'm male) It was so bad that patrons of the store came up to me and actually asked me why I didn't deck this guy, and leave. I was wrote up for not being dependable, despite an absenteism rate of 0.0019%. That is 80 minutes out in 5 MONTHS! I finally had to leave, despite not having another job to go because of the constant harrassment. I have not retained an attorney yet, but I think I need to. I was also ordered to sign off on the petty cash being correct, when I knew money had been taken out.. I refused to sign off on it, and it was right after that things went down hill. I am about 99% sure I will file legal charges agaonst them within the next few days.
