I am a former employee , who was fired unjust, for not completeing a refund slip. the first time in almost a year that my integrity was an issue, they offer me my own store and the next im fired. If Jen, the Manager wasnt sleeping with the DM Al, this wouldnt have happened, I wish he would pull his head out of his you know where and start using his brain, I would still be employed there if i was a drug addict or sleeping with upper management.

Also the big dogs are awhere of this ongoing affair and yet I was fired over a singature? I also know that when an employee gets hurt at work, they get a dug test,Jen The manager didnt, tell me why you can make your own assumption. I worked more than 65 hrs a week most of that was off the clock. I am furious that i got fired over a very simple COMPANY POLICY! But yet in family dollars eyes it is okay to sleep with you boss. And also make you a CTM when you dont deserve it!

Family Dollar claims to be about family values but they cant even control there own dm who is married GREAT VALUES. Everything I say can be proven!!! As to the fact they were caught in action at a local county park , as they got caught by a State Trooper. This is a small town so you can imagine what this does for Sales. Being promoted by your DM as a CTM,and being able to travel overnight together sure has its benifits.:)

Family dollar ,have anyone out there got a full week vacation mgt wise without going over on payroll?I took a day off for xrays at work and asked how much payroll covers me he had said none but in book a mgt supposed to get a full week after a year and only 40$ a day in 1997 and still 40& a day for you being on vaction. well the sick day i took off i end up working on my day off and vacation i would take 3 day and put in the comp i took 5 day so i wasnt over on payroll

I have also checked with out loss prevention department and I DO NOT have to refund their money if they are not willing to sign the slip. I do not live in the land of oz, I just live in a district where the people do their jobs the way they should be done and that is why we don't have the problems that some of these other people do. People are always quick to blame someone else when they are the ones that violated a policy. I have worked for this company for 17 years and NEVER had a problem. My manager has been with the company for 20 years and our DM has been around for 25 so I think we know how to do our jobs. But thank you for checking with corp but your info is incorrect.

I did check with Corp on the customer signing on the slips, we can not force them to sign it, and we cannot refuse their money back, that would not be a smart thing to do michelle, your job would be in trouble, all you have to do is call your DM on the phone right then and there, and have him talk to the customer and e-mail him and do an incident report on it and print it up and put in the file, let the corp handle it, b/c all corp will do is make u do the refund, and they will get mad and get gift certificates, believe me been there and done that, and the part ,

Sad to say you look out for shrink, but shrink dont look out for you, and sometime corp can cause shrink issues especially with refunds, that is why a manager and asst manager calls up on them, even idf they are not a target store. About female managers, well 98% female are not payed as much as the males, and as far as up there where you are at, seems like you must know dorthy and toto, and your area must be the land of OZ,

In my district there are many female managers that make more than some of the male managers here so I know that is not true in every district. Now, it may not be policy to have to have the customer fill out the refund slip(not sure if that is true or not but I will check with my DM on that one) but in order to protect my job, if they don't fill it out and sign it, I do not give them their money back. Let that customer do what they want to about it, I am protecting my job.

On the refund policy, were you a target store?Did you write and log down any numbers on the log book on the verify refund book?Were you the only one that did refunds?Iknow, that I did alotof refunds, and had them to sign, and then I would get alot of people not to sign the slips, and I would call my DM and Corp as well and they would say, Well, they don't have to sign, and I would get mad and say well I thought that they had to sign, Corp even told me, and MY DM that They are not required or we cannot force them to SIGN any refund slip,and COME on WHO really going to give their real phone number, I know half of the ones i called on that I did and my Asst.s did , it was disconnected or someone else's number,You are told to be suspisious of any that keep bringing any back without a recipt, BUT we cannot refuse any refund at all, and that use to tick me off because I knew alot of it was stolen, but you as a manager your hands are tied,but I am sorry that things did not work out, you can talk to your unemployment office and tell them if you are out of work and have no job, you can ask to waver it, especially if you have no job now, you cant pay it back, ask for the form and fill it out, and I would mention on there about that IT IS NOT POLICY AT ALL TO HAVE SIGNATURES WE CANNOT MAKE THE CUSTOMER SIGN ANYTHING AT ALL,YOU WOULD BE FORCING THEM AND THE CUSTOMER CAN COME BACK ON THE COMPANY FOR THAT,in the future you don't need these nickel back companies, they are constanly getting sued for things like this, and I have heard they are going to be getting the same lawsuit dollar general is getting about the female managers are not getting paid as much as the male managers, that will be intresting, b/c I know that is true!P.S. if yo put them down as a reference, I would put down Personal for leaving.

This is what im saying, she told the judge that all nine were false. but when i finally got the evidence i called and yes they do exsist, besides the point that family dollar has a no hassle policy. so how am i too know the real number. I was sent up and that aint no lie. I knew too much and that is why i really was fired but now i have to pay all the unemployment back after collecting for 5 months.

So only 2 out of the 9 phone numbers were verified as actual refunds? I am still not clear as to why you were fired. Were these refunds done on your register? Because from you saying that only 2 out of the 9 match is does sound as if someone was doing fraudulent refunds.

Every comment I made also comes with proof, I have the refund copies in possseion due to they fought unemployment well i lost now must repay. I called the numbers on the reciept and some do exist. 2 0ut of 9 the numbers exist. and no i admitted that i didnt follow policy on a few occasions due too overworked and busy. but once again you have a little guy against a big corp. This occureance has been reported yet nothing has been done. I am pretty sure that i was set up.

Well, don't know whether to call this incident family dollar or a soap opera?If what has happened here is true,then it will come out in the wash, believe me it will.But,how many people are aware of this affair that is going on?If there is Employees that know, and it is reported if they are like Dollar General, Zero Tolerence, it would be an automatic termination.They may need to do a investigation, it will be done most likely by Loss Prevention,they will also use secret shoppers,and do night watches, they can even follow them especially if the DM has a company car.I would have anyone call Corp. and make a complaint,you can go online and e-mail to customer feedback,and you can call the Regional, he or she has to do an investigation on them especially if there is several complaints.In our district we all in 14 stores had wondered about our DM store and a store near madison FL, that store manager wears dixie shorts on truck and stock days,and curses out loud her favorite word is the F word.Me and several managers got so many c/o of her doing this and one guy said if he wanted to see a woman wear short short's he would like to see a young woman with no middleage fat on her legs and a whole buch of tatoo's on her leg, we tell our DM all the time of the c/o's she would do mean things to new managers and the list goes on, well we also seen our DM and her going off alone all the time in his company car, (which is not prohibted)and customers have called in and have seen them hugging and patting each other on the butt, and he is married with kids, and so is she, go figure, i am like if i was him i would get something that was a alot better looking, but usually the ugly hung up ones are the cheap and easy or what we call nickle back girls, throw a nickle and they are on their backs, but soon they will get caught...

The refund thing I am kind of puzzled of how they could fire you over a signature, unless you admitted to doing the refund for money or they caught you on tape doing it, or it was a large amount, b/c I know at my store we were a target store, and had to call and verify 6-8 refunds a week, and they had to be filled out completely even if they were 1.07, and i would check the handwriting, time lapse on all refunds and go back and check to see if each refund come out the same on what is on your cash and sales paper every am.But, if there is something that needs to be investigated, you call your DM and they go thru them ,call customer to verify, and if the asst didnt sign we would verbal reprimend them, b/c that is big shrink there.But, they cant fire you for that, you have to keep doing it, and have write ups etc.. but as far as the affair, if you know of any people that knows or any in the community have to call report, b/c if you do, it will sound like you are hashing out at them for getting fired, go draw unemployment, b/c they have to prove that you broke the policy on purpose. need any other suggestions drop a line on here.
