Farmers Insurance Company Aka Mid-Century Insurance Company Mid-Century Consumer and Merchandise Reward Promotions International, Inc. Sent my newly 18 y.o. son a fake prize check. New York , New York

 Sent a realistic looking check to my just turned 18 y.o. claiming he won some kind of enormous prize ($49.000), claiming it to be for the "NON RESIDENT TAX, INSURANCE AND DOCUMENTATIONS".  Needed to call the claim agent Douglas Pickles @ 1-516-989-5065 or Ashley Flore to find out what to do with the $3680 check they sent for the $2980 tax payment so he "wouldn't be out any money up front".  Thank goodness my son was out of town and gave me permission to check his mail.  He would have gotten sucked into this scam as would many young people that think they struck it rich!  They see people win the LOTTO, why not them?  I'm angry that they targeted my son and probably a lot more young people out there. 

Is anyone doing anything about this?  I see that this has been reported several times.
