The Farmers Insurance commercials say they cover everything so there are no surprises even if a meteor hits your house you are covered. So a meteor is covered!! BUT NOT a brake in the sewer line?

However, their commercials are right about one thing...What you don't know can hurt you. I didn't know every little way Farmers could find to not cover the brake in my sewer line and it hurts A Lot!!!!!!

All they did was try to come up with ways they could get around covering an issue that should be covered by the policy. The representative was rude and unhelpful. They left me with a busted sewage line and no help!!!

Well Farmers you will not leave me stranded again I am switching companies!!!! I WILL NEVER USE FARMERS INSURANCE EVER AGAIN!!!!

Farmers insurance policy

AUTHOR: Rooty - ()

Good luck in trying to find the specifics of your Farmers insurance policy! No wonder people are confused about what is or isn't covered. If you ask you will be given a summary of the amount of coverage for covered losses but not the full policy that specifies what those covered losses are.

If you are insured by Farmers just check to see if you have a copy of your full policy or if you can get it on their website. It's not there.

Insurance does not cover water or sewage lines

AUTHOR: joshua - ()

Insurance if purchased for risk and risk only, not wear and tear.  Let me explain, you purchase insurance on your home for things like wind rain damage, falling objects (i.e. trees etc) Flood.

Insurance is provided for pure risk.  For example you cut down a tree in your backyard and the tree falls on your house.  You have a break in and your home receives physical damage or stolen property. A tornado hits.  Mold that you are unaware and in many cases infestations of insects that do physical damage to your property (termites or wood eating ants).  What insurance does not care is everyday wear and tear.

So to better explain house detoriation is not covered.  This means that if your paint chips, plumbing stops working, etc.  Sewage lines are not covered under any insurance not just farmers.  Allstate, State Farm, you name they will not cover a damaged sewage line.  Wear and tear is common homes, and it is your responsibility as a home owner to resolve those issues your self.  Call a plumber.

Also, if you would have been responsible and actually read your policy you would have known this, instead of getting on here and making a fool of yourself.

That was just to make a point...

AUTHOR: Mariah - ()

No I did not get this insureance because of the commercial nor am I upset about the commercial. I just brought that in to make a point. But it seems I will have to spell it out for you.... My policy should cover a brake in the sewer line however the insurance has come up with no less then three silly technacalitys that disclude my claim from what they cover. They just want to find a loop hole so they dont have to pay!!!!

So your taking what they say in a commercial over what is in your policy? Thats not very bright. A commercial is just that, a commercial. The reality is that your policy is what they have to go by. Does your policy cover a broken sewer line? Thats the only thing you should be concerned with. THEY HAVE TO FOLLOW THE POLICY THAT YOU HAVE SIGNED!!
