I received a call on June 11, 2009 and a man name fredrick williams left a message on my answering machine. He stated that I needed to contact him as soon as possible he left a number (818)338-5062 he went on to say that if I didn't respond that all he could do was wish me good luck! So the next day I received the same call and He went on to read me a affidavit stating that I had 3 counts against me and they wanted their money. I asked how much, he stated $9000. I then informed him that I never did no payday loan. He then stated ain't the last 4 digits of your SSN is, I said yes and then he went on and said well your the one who did it. I said I didn't do anything. He then asked me do you have any children I informed him that I did he then stated well you better get someone to take care of your children because your going to jail. And I later asked him for the information to contact the company and the phone number and he stated I can't give you that information they have filed a suit against you it's to late. Yes he did scare me and was like lord were I'm gonna get money from. But then I realized I didn't do no payday loan so thats when I said oh well and tried to hang the phone up but, he was still on the line talking about ms. elliott don't hang up in my face. I said well that's what I'm trying to do and I wish you get off my line. Then he stated well I guess I'll see you in count, I said I guess so and hung up the phone. And I then stated something was not right so I got on the internet and did some research and stumble on this site.

Fast Cash International

AUTHOR: Sherry - (U.S.A.)

As you can see on ripoff reports, this company has been very busy. In addition to calling the Attorney General and the BBB, you need to file a police report because you were scammed out of your money. The "employees" of this "company" are scammers and most likely out of Nigeria. I am sorry to say this, but the likelihood of you ever getting your money back is slim to none.

You also need to contact the credit bureau and have a fraud alert put on your reports. Also, change your bank account #. When they called me they had my complete social security #, probably have yours too.

I am sorry you didn't find this website before you fell victim to this scam business.

What you should really do

AUTHOR: Realitysucks - (U.S.A.)

You should ask the collector to prove to you that the money loaned was actually sent to your bank account. Ask for the bank account number to see if it matches an account of yours.

These payday loan companies do their loans over the internet, and rarely call anyone. Someone can easily buy your information and start using it online. THIS IS WHY YOU NEVER NEVER NEVER USE YOUR CHECKING ACCOUNT OR DEBIT CARD ONLINE. THIS IS THE DUMBEST THING ANYONE CAN EVER DO. The scammer who had your info, probably used an account s/he owns so the payday company can loan that money to them under your info, so they can keep the money. Chances are this person is out of the country and from reading some more of ripoff report it has happened to a few others. Funny part is that payday loan was probably only $1500 but the interest and fees got it to $9K

Ask the collector for the account number, if its not yours tell him, and call his bluff saying youll be more than happy to see them in court, and will counter sue for attorney costs, and time spent, who do you think the judge is going to side with, the person who was part of a scam, or a company that was and didnt listen to the poor consumer.

PayDay should be fined! California Security Breach Act!

AUTHOR: Anonymous - (U.S.A.)

If they operate any where in California, they are aware that there is a California Security Breach Act. It means that if a company knows that there data has been jeopardize, they are to in a timely manner, report it to authority. They are to also send out a mailing to all their customers letting them know that their personal information was jeopardized. They are also to provide continued credit reports to them free of charge. If they fail to do that they could be penalized. This just does not mean Californians either. If they do business anywhere in the US they are obligated to contact those customers also. They must be aware, since another poster said they did a story on this scam on ABC.

Oh please.......

AUTHOR: Resty - (U.S.A.)

Wstall2001 .............You need to quit fostering panic. This is a clear cut scam. Stop alarming the OP over identity theft. The OP knows whether they took out a pay day loan and there's any chance this could be legit. I kinda commend the OP for not falling for the scam call and realizing just because some freak accuses her/him of something does not make it so.

Sooooooooooooo many people have fallen for this crap and paid only to find out later that it was all a scam. It's better to be leery and keep your money than to panic, give up the money, freak out and THEN find it's a scam and not be able to get your money back.

Quit with the panic mode......there's enough reason today to panic over the economy without looking for false reasons.

TAKE IMMEDIATE ACTION!

AUTHOR: Wstall2001 - (U.S.A.)

Don't say OH WELL! It might just be OH WELL! Call the company back and ask for the information on the check that was presented to the Payday Loan Company. If it is your check then you need to contact your local police department to open a fraud investigation. The collector WAS probably a you know what...but they hear it all the time. You also need to place a fraud report on all three major credit bureaus to protect yourself. You may be a victim of ID theft or fraud. Don't stop until you get this company satisfied and you get clear documentation of your clearance. Hope this helps!

They can't do that

AUTHOR: Maggie - (U.S.A.)

They can't send you to jail, it is illegal for them to threaten to do so. Ignore them. If you actually owed them money, they'd give you an address to send a payment. This is a scam. Get caller ID or an answering machine so you don't have to talk to them again.
