You also need to contact the credit bureau and have a fraud alert put on your reports. Also, change your bank account #. When they called me they had my complete social security #, probably have yours too.
I am sorry you didn't find this website before you fell victim to this scam business.

What you should really do

These payday loan companies do their loans over the internet, and rarely call anyone. Someone can easily buy your information and start using it online. THIS IS WHY YOU NEVER NEVER NEVER USE YOUR CHECKING ACCOUNT OR DEBIT CARD ONLINE. THIS IS THE DUMBEST THING ANYONE CAN EVER DO. The scammer who had your info, probably used an account s/he owns so the payday company can loan that money to them under your info, so they can keep the money. Chances are this person is out of the country and from reading some more of ripoff report it has happened to a few others. Funny part is that payday loan was probably only $1500 but the interest and fees got it to $9K
Ask the collector for the account number, if its not yours tell him, and call his bluff saying youll be more than happy to see them in court, and will counter sue for attorney costs, and time spent, who do you think the judge is going to side with, the person who was part of a scam, or a company that was and didnt listen to the poor consumer.

Sooooooooooooo many people have fallen for this crap and paid only to find out later that it was all a scam. It's better to be leery and keep your money than to panic, give up the money, freak out and THEN find it's a scam and not be able to get your money back.
Quit with the panic mode......there's enough reason today to panic over the economy without looking for false reasons.
