I am on Disability and have recently been trying to put my life together by going into a Home Business. As difficult as it has been, it does not compare to the trauma I have endured with FIFTH THIRD BANK and the OVERDRAFT FEE theivery which has caused me more emotional stress than they care to listen to. In fact, at each level on the executive ladder, I was met with fridgedness and belittlement that rivals the blackest of hearts replete with the soul of crooks.

This past month, I was supposed to receive $2300 at the beginning of the month from my ex spouse. We had just contracted to have her put it in directly (vs. court involvement) to make it easier on/for her. In a mix up , I didn't get the money in time and within the first few days where I had to invest in my business, I accumlulted $ 762.00 of Overdraft Fees !...
....$ 762 .00 !!!!!

Who would feel justified of charging that much money to anyone, especially,if it was simply a timing issue, that had them receiving the coverage of it in a parculiar situation like this ? $ 762.00 !

What do they do with their stolen money ? Who benefits ? Another $ 74.00 was taken out AFTER I struggled to get the money in there. How is that legal ? Who keeps them accountable ? Never in my life, would I believe that this can happen to an American citizen. I may lose my home over this , as I now, have less of my "just -barely- in - the - balance" funds which will either ruin my hopes to get my business off the ground or put me out with my regular expenses.

Do you know what advice and counsel I DID receive from the district manager ? He was kind enough to give me an analogy of a speeder continuuing to get away with a warning and then going back out and going too fast again. It was his heartless attempt to justify ruining me.

Is there a limit to this fraud without repercussion ? I told him when I left his office that "This wasn't over". He had the audacity to up his vitriol one standard deviation, leaning in to me , like he were Clint Estwood and inquired,
"Are you threatening me ?"

I leaned into him, "Yes" , I said "and there are legal means and actions I can take to fight this , so don't outdo yourself" ...et al.

He went on to explain that even if I opted out of 5/3, that if some of my auto pays come in after I leave the bank, the system won't return the check back to the vendor , but will re - engage my account so that they have the means to legally charge me $ 37 for any Overdraft , again and $ 8 a day which he said he would most certainly add to the thousands they have taken from me already.

Simply put, he blackmailed me into having to go to my vendors to avoid their
BACK DOOR RIP OFFS, as well. With a smirk , he went to shake my hand. Now that's PR.

Well, here's some (legally) back to you , Mr. S

That you are barking up the wrong tree here.

"This past month, I was supposed to receive $2300 at the beginning of the month from my ex spouse. We had just contracted to have her put it in directly (vs. court involvement) to make it easier on/for her. In a mix up , I didn't get the money in time and within the first few days where I had to invest in my business, I accumlulted $ 762.00 of Overdraft Fees !...
....$ 762 .00 !!!!!"

Here are the facts as I read them:

A. You were expecting to have some type of direct deposit from your ex (child support, alimony, etc).

B. "In a mixup" the money wasn't deposited when you were expecting it to.
a. This resulted in overdraft fees, for items that you purchased/paid for, that
bounced, thus overdrafting your account.
b. I fail to see how this is, in any way shape or form, the bank's fault.
c. I would be speaking with your ex and asking "why the money wasn't there"

(to reiterate)
C. Because the money you expected was not deposited (again, this seems to be
the fault of your ex) you got overdraft fees.
a. The bank doesn't care WHY you overdrafted.
