Another answer i got from them is that if Card is not recognized buy their ATM, card gets Retained.
I told them that my card was recognized, because it even gave me my available balance but still...
So people i want you to know that if you use Fifth Thirds Bank ATM you may loose your card.

Putting in wrong PIN is not only reason ATM's swallow cards
AUTHOR: Steven - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Saturday, August 08, 2009
1. As was stated entering incorrect PIN more than 3 times.
2. Card is reported lost or stolen by issuing bank (reason why they would only return a customers card since they can verify it)
3. Sometimes the cards are made with poor quality materials.
In any event banks have the right to retain cards from ATM's. They usually destroy them as opposed to sending them back to the issuing bank or card holders (please note I said card holders since you do not OWN the card it is the property of the issuing bank or institution.
This bank is not the only one that does it.
