I am writing this in regards to a purchase I made on a Filter Queen Majestic and Filter Queen Defender in February 2012. I was mislead and not informed on many aspects. The salesman from Healthy Homes Systems, also my roommate at the time, did not inform me of the interest rate of 21% by Equitable Acceptance Corp. He scribbled on the paperwork which means he had to take it back to the office, rewrite my information and bring it back for me to sign. It took him three days to get it back to me.
I was also not disclosed the fact that the prices of the filters the machines required were outrageous and could only be purchased through the company.I was also unaware that the "lifetime warranty" was something that I would be paying for. Upon using the air purifier machine, my allergies seemed to get better, which is the main reason why I bought the machines. After about a week I noticed my nasal passages were becoming very dry and irritated, I would wake up in the morning and almost instantly have to use my rescue inhaler. I didnt care much for the vacuum because I didnt see a difference with it compared to the vacuum of mine that they took for a "discount".
I am an adult, I am aware of the decision I made when purchasing this item. However I was not fully INFORMED as a consumer. This product has not lived up to its expectations and has even threatened my health. Currently both machines are in my basement untouched, collecting dust. I do not want replacements. I do not want other products. I want a refund. I do not want the goods I was given in exchange for the $3000 I now owe for goods that I did not recieve with satisfaction.
If this is a company that values its consumers, products, employees, or business, I would expect some kind of action to be taken as soon as possible. I had attempted to dispute the account with Equitable since Health-Mor or Healthy Homes Systems have not returned any communication but I cannot dispute it. I am in the process of closing on a house that I purchased. If my account is in dispute this will make me LOSE my house. Not to mention the effect this products' price is putting on my credit report isnt even worth it if I cannot enjoy the product.
So all in all, this product has threatened my chances of getting a mortgage, possibly losing a house I am purchasing, gave me no satisfaction, affected my health in a negative manner, and I still have yet to RECIEVE anything from Health-Mor, Filter Queen, or Healthy Homes Systems. You use manipulative tactics to get consumers to buy the machines by not informing them of interest rates, warranty information, and product details. Trust me, I will continue to spread the word and report to the BBB the actions I have encountered.
