My son bought Final Fantasy Online, and to play this game on the xbox you have to set up an account. But, the game comes with a free trial. I set up the account for him and didn't think about having to input billing information for the trial period as this is the policy with most online video games.

In April I recieved a charge for 26.99 for a month of this game on my bank account. Because of this charge I recieved overdraft charges and a bunch of problems.

I tried to contact the company. Which they do not make easy on their website. We no longer had internet service and they set up the game so that you have to be online to make any changes to your account. After searching I was able to contact someone via their live chat.

I explained to the person that I was charged and no longer even had access to the account. I was billed on the first and I was able to contact them on the second of April. I had to go use my Mother's computer to do this. The person asked if I would like the account cancelled and my card removed and I said yes. He did this and when I asked about being charged $26.99 when the account had obviously not been used. He told me I was out of luck and the charges would not be refunded.

This person was very rude, and when I asked who I could contact to discuss the matter further I was ignored! I have tried to contact them over and over again and have been ignored the whole time.

This company has extremely bad costumer service. And extremely poor business practices. If you want to cancel the account, they don't make it easy. Then they charge you and refuse to offer a refund. I didn't have access to the account and explained this to them and they did not care. They caused me hundreds of dollars in fees on top of charging me for a game that wasn't even being played.

You're right. It is the policy with most online video games to ask for billing info even though you may get a "trial" period or "free" month. It is also the policy with most online games that they start charging you after your "free" month is up, unless you cancel before the month is up. ALL monthly fee games do this. They also don't watch your account activity and credit you if you don't log in. That's not how it works.
