The next day it did it again, I dropped the car back off we waited for a few hours(**at which point Tim who didn't drive it over 50mph the first test drive, took the car for another one, we watched him pull into the garage, and am pretty positive he took our car the the drive through to bring food back for everyone), then finally went home, heard nothing from them till late the next day, in which Rick tried telling me we just needed struts yet. I argued because they assured us it was just ball joints. Rick then said, he thinks struts will fix it but he is not sure, he said he would put them in, and reimburse us if it doesn't fix the problem.
Later the next day, he called and said he figured it was a control arm issue instead, and went ahead and fixed it and wanted us to test drive the car. The car wouldn't go over 45, it would feel like a break was being applied. When I pulled up to the shop and told him, he threw his hands in the air and said he didn't know what we were talking about, and that he would just reimburse me for the ball joints. That was not ok with me because, the car now can not be driven cause something is clearly wrong. So, Rick said he would send it to claims on Monday.
Claims contacted us Tuesday, after many calls from me and finally an email to his manager. Thursday an adjuster went out to Firestone to examine and test drive the car(now a full week with out a car). Convienenty the keys had been locked in the car so the guy had to come back Friday. We had not received any updates from claims about any of it and all our calls were not returned. Tuesday the 19th, I finally called Firestones DM Ron. He at that time told me the claims department said the Ball joints and Control arm work was satisfactory(this wasn't what was in question) that they would only be reimbursing me for the Ball joint based on the fact that it did not fix my original problem. Said the car had to be towed someplace else for the new problem.
Finally Claims(Juan) called me back again, after an email had to be sent to a manager(a manager who never once has contacted me). Jaun said the same thing the DM said, and that he would talk to Firestone about if they were cutting me a check or claims.
The car was towed and at that time did not even have reverse. **Note we had absolutely no indications prior to dropping the car off that it had a transmission problem. It is confirmed at the new garage that we need a new transmission.
It has been 25 days since we first took our car to firestone. We have not received our money back for the ball joints, the car worked when we drove it in, and while under their care and their test drives and work, it miraculously developed a horrible transmission problem and had to be sold for $600.
We were completely ripped off, and our calls and emails, were unanswered and the situation was not dealt with in a professional manner. They tried to screw us over with the ball joints in the first place, but they picked the wrong person to screw over.
