My car broke down when I was in Indio. The belt broke. When I took it to Firestone, they (Danny) gave me an estimate of $1241. They said they had to replace the fan assemply (cost of part: $594), water pump, and belt. I faxed their estimate to my mechanic (in Mission Viejo), and he asked me what part of the cooling fan needed to be replaced as the estimate was vague. They told me "the motor". So my mechanic advised me NOT to let them work on it. I had to have my car towed from Indio to Mission Viejo. My mechanic billed me $639 to replace the fan blade, 2 pullies (of which the total for those parts was $95!!!) and the water pump. DON'T TRUST FIRESTONE - THEY'RE DISHONEST!!! I guess they saw a girl walking into their station from out of town and the dollar signs just started to ring all over the place (or so they thought!!) I think they are ethically and morally bankrupt, and what they tried to pull was reprehensible. Don't ever go there!
